Poured a deep burgundy color with a thin head that provided very nice lacing. Aroma was of rubber and raspberries, as was the flavor. This was very comparable in my opinion to the NG Raspberry Tart. But, why such a differential between this and that? Perhaps because this claims to be a lambic and not a fruit beer (it was a phony sweetened lambic for sure and way overpriced for that matter). Yes, it didnít taste like beer, but neither did the Raspberry Tart on both of my tastings of it.

Raspberries, and Iím not relating to Thoroughly Modern Millie. In the aroma, in the flavor, and the early finish seems the same as eating fresh raspberries, perhaps even a hint of seed. The sweet is nearly balanced by the tart. The new label is a bit sad, lacks the character of the old. Final finish hints of a sour lambic characeristic.

I did not think anyone could improve on Chapeauís framboise but this brewer has done it.Even the head is pink.Fruit lambics are not for everyone. 12.7oz is a perfect dose.No more,no less.Very refreshing.

Draft... Clear, ruby ale with a small, creamy, pink tinted head. Fruity aroma... lemon and raspberry. The flavor is all about sweet, tart and tangy raspberries. Medium-bodied and lightly oily with lively carbonation. Finishes fruity and tangy. Fun! Not ingenious nor complex. Just fun!

Brightish crimson appearance, good head formation . Intense sweet raspberry aroma with mild woody notes. Strong raspberry flavor, very sugarry. May be sweeter than Lindemanís.

Tap: Clear reddish body. Aroma is fruity with notes of raspberry, strawberry and cherry. Flavor is the same, finishes sweet. I liked this, surprised to see it rated so low... but I havenít had many lambics so if I ever have it again (LOL) my rating might change.

On tap at Maharís. Super sweet strong tart aroma and flavor, almost sticky. Lindemans-like, a little tastier, fruitier. Yah, not a real lambic, but if you know to expect a lindemans clone, you know what your getting and it actually may be a little better than lindemans. A sweet raspberry beer with the faintest hint of real lambic. Shouldnít really be slammed for what it is, not a bad drinking experience if you donít try to compare it to a serious lambic. Yeah you have to want something very sweet like candy to enjoy it, but if you are realizing they are trying to please the lindemans crowd with this, youíre not dissapointed by this, and itís hard to fault them when so many people like it. And frankly itís not terrible, itís quite drinkable and fruity, and no itís not serious beer, so what. I wouldnít want to drink a whole bomber of it myself, sharing a tap serving with my girlfriend was just the right amount before I got candy sickness.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2005 Bottle, best before 1/2006, had at Sunset Grille on 10/20/2005. Well I was honestly excited to see a new bottled lambic in my area, but it turns out the hoped for lambic is really just another "lambic". So disapointing, makes me not even want to write a review. Just another unspontaneous fruit beer. How much lambic is actually in this? 5%?? Maybe? Wow. Pours a muddy-caramel-beige color, huge pinkish-yellow head is lasting. Smells of dry, root-like vegetables in the background with some sharp, almost acidic notes. But itís dominated by sweet, thick, cloying raspberries. Well they donít cloy in the aroma, but once you get in to the flavor, ack. Heavy raspberry fruit flavor, with more or less zero lambic quality. Some dirty yeastiness is about all I got. But at least it wasnt horribly offensive like Chapeau or Cherish, but itís just so sad that these pretend to be lambics. Thick, sweet raspberries cloy by the end of the bottle, syrupy, fairly substantial texture. Way too sweet. Oh well, another dream shattered (not really).

I thought this was excellent beer. A nice light sweet raspberry flavor with out being too sweet or to over the top. No sign of the alchol.

An excellent example of the style. Not quite as good as the Lindemanís Fram, but then again that is the standard by whch I measure all other lambics.
