Orange -rather dark for a geuze-. First lemon and a green apple that kicks in the nose. Later comes some caramel, a bit too sweety for a geuze. Very good beer -a pleasure to drink- but not amongst my favourite geuzes.

Bottle from the LCBO. Hazy medium orange amber pour with a small white short lived head leaving spotty lace. Nose of champagne and sour fruit with lemon notes. Sweet and very tart start; more than the nose would indicate and incorporating green apple, grape and some woodiness. Levels a bit after the start but remains tart through to the finish. Palate is medium full with a slick fell and active carbonation. Nice

Ik drink af en toe graag een geuze, maar deze beviel mij echt niet van smaak

375 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear deep golden colour lots of carbonation and a thin white head and doesn’t last too long. Nose is layers of tart citrus, wine vinegar, sweet cherry, flowers, funkiness. Taste is dominated by the dry sour finish. I get lemons, cherries, wine, champagne. My first gueuze and I liked it.

Amber beer with a small, fast diminishing white head. Sweet and acidic aroma. Flavour is quite sweet, lambic and mild acidic. Medium body, a bit watery. (Corked Bottle 75cl, 6,5 alcohol % in my version)

HIGHB4LL (544) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - AUG 1, 2014
On tap at Choice City Butcher. Appearance: 2 fingers white head, great lacing, copper orange color, cloudy. Aroma: fruit, oak, wine, earthy tart. Palate: light body, metallic finish, lively carbonation, dry finish. Taste: sweet fruit, into fruity tartness that is not quite sour, and rounding into a very unique metallic taste that is slightly medical. Overall, memorable, unique, strange, but something you start to like after a few sips. drinkable.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/18/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of sour green apple, lemon, white grape, wet hay, straw, grass, oak, leather, musty funk, white vinegar, wheat, light pepper, and yeast/oaky earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/lactic yeast, oak, and light malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tart green apple, lemon, white grape, wet hay, straw, grass, leather, oak, musty funk, white vinegar, wheat, light pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of earthy/fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of green apple, lemon, white grape, wet hay, straw, leather, oak, musty funk, white vinegar, wheat, and oak/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/funky/lactic yeast, oak, and light malt flavors; with a great malt/acidity balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, dry, and fairly acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice gueuze style. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/funky/lactic yeast, oak, and light malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

Cloudy gold with lacy white head. Citric acidic smell with some cellar, this plays into the taste with very citric-acetic sour and wood and stone cellar and some pale fruit, not much but sharp sourness and I’d like more complexity but its a respectable drain cleaner for the human digestion. Yeah gueuze are rarely my thing, and I think I’m getting a food sensitivity headache... great.

Bottled July 18, 2012, drank July 27, 2014. Hazy orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some light funk as well as some orange and lemon character. The flavor is similar. I get some sour lemon and orange notes, as well as some light sugary sweetness. There is also a hint of funk. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
