Typical horse blanket, funk, citrus.... Lemon and melon. Tight white head glowing opaque gold. Thoroughly sour acidic citrus, not the most complex. Lively carb, medium to thin body. Good, not great.

Bottle. Hazy orange liquid with medium to big off - white head. Aroma of lemons, apples, barnyard, leather, sweat and berries. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of lemons, apples, barnyard and minerals. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Nice and very good for the price.

Belle arôme d’abricot sur fond de citronnelle, très sauvage avec un fond légèrement sucré. En bouche, l’effervescence est juste assez musclée avec un bon assaut de notes surette, vraiment bien conçu, finit sur une agréable sécheresse.

Draft at Hop & Vine, Portland. Pours a golden red. Aroma is tart, smacks of pears and green apple. Body is lively but not overly so. Eminently drinkable. Finish very crisp, hints of white wine and white fruit at tail end of finish. Not the best geuze I’ve ever had, but on tap, so what the hell.

Deep gold with amber hue and a large but unsteady white head. Aroma is like an attic infected with brettanomyces. Flavor is sour with some citrus characteristics. Finishes with a definite citric acid note and a faint wheatiness. A good sour lambic, but I prefer a bit more complexity, more of the younger blended-in lambic to peak through.

On tap at Mission Delores. Pours hazy golden orange with white head. Aromas of some mustyness, lemon tartness, sweetish malts, and some funk. Flavor of some lemon tartness, apples, bit of funk and a dusty earthy note. Finishes with lick smacking tartness. Solid.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Coulr is touch hazy, honey coloured with a large light bubbley head. Nose is fusty, musky grain, wet dog/damp clothes, sour citrous, sweet grain malt. Taste is very tart and sour, raw Brambley cooking apples, Granny Smith apples, lemon citrous sour and quite a lot of musky grain, little cheesiness. Finish is very tart, lip smackingly so, with some mustiness and cidery apple. A good rustic lambic but not as deep in flavour as the classics.

Draught. Medium yellow with little head or lace. Aroma is lightly sweet white bread and moderate tartness. Flavor is very similar. It is not particularly sour but is balanced. The feel is woody, watery, prickly, and quite lively. Very good beer but not quite complex enough to wow for a gueuze.

375ml bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet tarts, spiciness, some caramel malts and sweetness, and a little bitterness. Flavor about the same. Average texture. I wish there were more malts in this beer.
