Best by: 09/2015 A: golden ale with near excellent clarity and no head formation. A broken sheet of white head. No lace. S: Some hay, fresh cut grass, manure, lemon juice, oak. Nothing really stands out as the dominating tone. T: Plenty tart with lots of white vinegar flavors and some nice acidity. None of the funk comes through at this segment. Pretty tart actually, surprised by the tart. M: Thin with high carb, appropriate for the style IMO. Dry finish. O: This one is pretty hardcore, not really balanced, but thatís the goodness for me. Really sour. Serving type: bottle 07-15-2011

This is my first gueuze so Iím hardly a connoisseur. Poured a cloudy, gold color (3-7 SRM). Didnít generate much of a head. Aroma was sour and earthy. Initial taste lit my mouth on fire with high carbonation. Picked up tart sour apple flavor and some other off flavor I couldnít recognize or put a label on. Absolutely no hop aroma, flavor or bitterness. The lace dropped like a rock, leaving no evidence of a head at all. These beers are known for their complexity and this one lived up to their rep. As for this particular one...been there, done that. Not bad but Iíll be exploring other gueuzes.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2014 This isnít my first time drinking this but this one is different. Pours a darker golden than usual with not much head and some lacing. Aroma is of citrus but also burnt rubber and also, strangely, a bready (almost biscuity) component. Taste is sour but not bracingly so since it has a weird residual sweetness. Ends up with a bready finish or maybe even some wheat flour. Body is light, carbonation medium-high. This is wildly different from all the other bottles of this Iíve had but still really nice! Not sure if there was a recipe change or not, or maybe it is some kind of bottle variation... only time will tell!

Pours a cloudy light orange color with decent white head. Big funky sour aroma, citrusy - grapefruit, lemon. Mellow sour flavor, barnyardy brett character, tartness, citrusy notes on the flavor as well. Not overwhelming but very refreshing and drinkable gueuze.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4547) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 21, 2013
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured an amber-caramel color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart citric acid, apple and vinegar. The flavor was very tart and sour with undertones of bread, must and sweettart candies. Long tart, sour, musty sweettart candy finish. Medium body. Solid.

Pours , copper clear with sediment, with weak head. Aroma is sour apple cider, champagne. Palate is medium thin, fizzy. Taste is sour, tart and crispy. There are flavours of wheat and lemon sourness. Finish is Refreshing and little dry and and bitter. Since I enjoy the style this is decent lambic. Not the most complex, but very nice.

It pours cloudy amber with brown highlights; the head is bone-coloured and foamy. The aroma has notes of: lemon-juice, fermenting hay, and citrus marmalade. The taste is heavy sour/tart that finishes with a light bitterness; there are notes of: lemon, barnyard funks, and finishes with: mineral-notes, and cereal grain (namely wheat). The palate is medium-full bodied, has medium carbonation, and has a medium finish. Overall, this beer makes a drastic 180 halfway through, finishing like a pilsner - odd, but interesting.

A lot of bubblegum flavors in this one. Lemon acidity. Not the best for the style.

Bottle thanks to pussypete. Aroma is funky and sour. Flavor is sour, balanced but kind of boring. Decent

A little disappointed here. Smell was sharp and sour and appeared to be in line with the style. The color was a golden with a little amber thrown in and a white head. The palate was light with a good amount of carbonation and a sour finish. The flavor was funky and not in a Brett kind of way. It was sour and grainy. The finish reminded me of wasabi, which didnít work. It had promise but kind of failed on the end.
