3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a Karmaliet tulip glass. Poured a clear apple juice like color with a bubbly head with some lacing that disappears. Aroma is some sour funk, yeast. Taste is the same. Not much in terms of fruit. Tart finish. My first gueuze so I don’t have anything to compare it to. Looking forward to trying some more for comparison.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Choice City Butcher. Appearance: 2 fingers white head, great lacing, copper orange color, cloudy. Aroma: fruit, oak, wine, earthy tart. Palate: light body, metallic finish, lively carbonation, dry finish. Taste: sweet fruit, into fruity tartness that is not quite sour, and rounding into a very unique metallic taste that is slightly medical. Overall, memorable, unique, strange, but something you start to like after a few sips. drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 7/18/2012. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of sour green apple, lemon, white grape, wet hay, straw, grass, oak, leather, musty funk, white vinegar, wheat, light pepper, and yeast/oaky earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/funky/lactic yeast, oak, and light malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tart green apple, lemon, white grape, wet hay, straw, grass, leather, oak, musty funk, white vinegar, wheat, light pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of earthy/fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of green apple, lemon, white grape, wet hay, straw, leather, oak, musty funk, white vinegar, wheat, and oak/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of fruity/funky/lactic yeast, oak, and light malt flavors; with a great malt/acidity balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, dry, and fairly acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice gueuze style. All around good complexity and balance of fruity/funky/lactic yeast, oak, and light malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy gold with lacy white head. Citric acidic smell with some cellar, this plays into the taste with very citric-acetic sour and wood and stone cellar and some pale fruit, not much but sharp sourness and I’d like more complexity but its a respectable drain cleaner for the human digestion. Yeah gueuze are rarely my thing, and I think I’m getting a food sensitivity headache... great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled July 18, 2012, drank July 27, 2014. Hazy orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some light funk as well as some orange and lemon character. The flavor is similar. I get some sour lemon and orange notes, as well as some light sugary sweetness. There is also a hint of funk. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at uber. Murky light amber pour with ring of white head. Aroma: burnt rubber; wasabi/horseradish (!); funky, lactic, citric. Bubblegum and horseradish, that’s what I get most of all, to which I can only say "wtf?" Taste: rubber, wasabi, soy sauce, toast, sweetened cereal. Tart, slightly funky, but so much rubber and wasabi. I should be eating sushi. Palate: light body, average carbonation, slick mouth-coating texture. Overall: weird.

AN easy going gueze. Sour apples, brett, honey and pear. Not going to kick you in the klackers, but I would happy drink this if it came my way again.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from LCBO. Smells funky, sour, lactic. Great sour, if not overly complex, aroma. Slightly hazy golden color, long lasting white head. Great green apple sourness upfront, but somehow the malt in this beer doesn’t really do it for me completely, a tad too caramel sweet in the finish. Nice straightforward sour Gueuze, could possibly improve a bit with some age. Medium bodied and highly carbonated.
