TURDFERGUSON (1114), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Nose is light horseblanket and very farmy and earthy. Flavor is acidic and with some nice sourness. A solid gueuze, and a bit underrated in my opinion.

Sour cherry, white grape, lily, and lotus root aroma. Murky yellow-orange with lasting, thin film. Refreshingly sour flavour that is as close to vinegary as possible without being vinegary. Lemon, lotus root, balsamic notes and dry. Sort of tingly tangy feel with a mouth left watering. beerguy101 (3468), Newark, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 This Lambic-Gueuze pours a slightly hazy orange gold color from a 375ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is some fruity, tart, must and horse blanket. A medium bodied gueuze. A very tart and acidic gueuze, yet there is some nice fruit flavors in the middle. The malts are fruity. Lots of tart/sour citrusy flavors, with some nice must and horse blanket in there as well. Lively carbonation. Crisp, clean and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is very dry. Aftertaste is tart with some sweetness. jmuhops (653), Winchester, Virginia, USA Aug 14, 2008 2003 bottle. Hazy orange with some large chunks. Vinegary, cidery aroma, with a hint of barnyard and barn door. A bit softer on the palate than most gueuzes. Very cidery, with a distinct sweetness that’s nicely balanced by a medium-high acid finish. Much better than I remember it young. Heathen (492), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Aug 7, 2008 THOUGHTS: My first gueuze. Nice, but not as different of an experience as i thought it’d be. But that’s probably because it was a fairly young bottle with an expiration date of 2017.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a slightly cloudy, medium to dark yellow with a large to huge, slightly off-white head that slowly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was moderate cobwebs and a sort of dried saliva sort of yeastiness and a slight leather yeast. The saliva part lessened as the beer warmed. There was also sour fruit. Overall less funky than I expected. The initial flavor was moderately acidic and sour; while the finish was lightly acidic and very sour. There was mostly sour fruit. It was sorta like Sour Patch Kids candy, but not as sweet. Actually probably closer to sour Atomic Warheads candy with slight funk. The medium body was dry with sort of soft carbonation and a heavy astringent finish. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 37.5 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a creamy off-white head. Barnyard aroma from the distance already, orange fruity and tart. Flavour is solid citric to acidic, yet with a mild remaining sweetness coming through. Dry and citric finish: mild wooden dryness beneath a solid citric finish.
