3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Beachwood BBQ poured into footed tumbler. Appearance is orange-gold with some cloudiness, a thin ring of bubbles, and a few spots of lacing. Aroma is tart citrus, barnyard funk, cider vinegar, and some green apple sweetness. Taste is briefly sweet citrus, quickly replaced by tart vinegar and lemon sourness. The funkiness is there, too, but less than the nose indicated. Medium body, thin texture, active carbonation, crisp, drying, puckering finish.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
375 ml bottle at home. Pours coppery golden with a faint head. Aroma is... sweet wood and pasteurised (very clear with commercial geuze), an unpleasant spiced green touch (cloves), cognac hints. Light body, some level of sourness but not as powerful as the real lambic beers, a tad tart towards the end. Pity this is positioned as a lambic beer while it isn’t;

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12.7 oz bottle, poured into a snifter at ~50 degrees F.
Appearance: Pours a deep cloudy yellow-amber, and forms a thick white head with good retention.
Smell: Musty hay and funky mildew, with hints of melon, pear, and wheat that seems still green and growing as opposed to golden and ready for harvest.
Taste: The flavors open sharp and tart, heavy with citrus and melon flavors, and the sharpness does not relent as it goes along. Barnyard funk rolls through as the beer progresses, bringing along some wheaten grassiness and sour pear flavors. There are vague hints of pepper and some herbal spices that appear here and there as well.
Mouthfeel: Light and quite carbonated, possibly adding to the sharpness of the sour.
Overall: Quite an enjoyable gueuze, pure yeast ester flavors left unmolested by hops or excessive malt. I will repeat this one.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma was faint compared to the big bold flavors. Nicely tart and bitter, grapefruit-like notes, citrusy. Light carbonation adds a good mouthfeel. Very tasty!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Unclear orange golden color with a fine white head. Acidic, mellow sour funky, green apples and some oak in the aroma. Medium body. A bit dry, balanced acidic and a moderate bitterness. Green apples, wood and a bit fruity flavor. Nice refreshing beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pour is hazy copper with almost no head. Does seem to be carbonated. Aroma is lightly minerally and distantly funky with a touch of fruit and some light wood. Definitely carbonated with a light tart funk up front followed by light glue and then a transition to a buttery, woody, bitter flavor that lingers. Pretty light and drinkable overall but I don’t dig the finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Opens with a faint pop and a slow gushing. Pours clear amber with a small, but dense and lasting, white head. Aroma is lactic, cheesy, hay, lemons, dusty, and funky, fruity, esters, green apples, stale hops. Taste is moderately sour, and just a wee bit sweet - quite mild for a gueuze. The beer feels light and dry, and is somewhat sparkly, but not champagne-like, like some lambics tend to be.
