375 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear deep golden colour lots of carbonation and a thin white head and doesn’t last too long. Nose is layers of tart citrus, wine vinegar, sweet cherry, flowers, funkiness. Taste is dominated by the dry sour finish. I get lemons, cherries, wine, champagne. My first gueuze and I liked it.

Aroma of tart fruits, sour apple, some funk. Flavour is medium sour and slightly sweet. This is rather mild for a Gueueze and definitely not anywhere near top of the line, but still a very enjoyable and refreshing beer.

Pour out of 375mL bottle, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of nice funk, lemon, some earth into a bit of yeast, some grain into a bit of vanilla, oak, touch of cheese as well. Taste was mineral, cheese, some oak, vanilla into a bit of lemon peel, nice grassy notes into a bit of earth, slight yeast, finishing fairly tart. Pretty tasty, though not overly complex compared to its other Belgian counterparts.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Pours hazy deep golden with a big creamy white head. Aroma is light acidic berries, green apples. Taste is crisp and clean, weak tarty green apples, high carbonated, dry all the way, clean mouthfeel, lingering dry rhubarb and oak finish, nice.

37, cl bottle - 17 years old !!!! Originally I hold back on the rating opened a second bottle weeks later and I still hold the same opinion. This is a class of it’s own. Don’t let the rating fool ya. Ratebeer has certain criteria’s for points. Appearance:Orange with a head that quivckly fades. Aroma: Sour Apples, sugar, wood. Taste: Sour apples, wood., light funk. But the thing here how it blends the complexity. medium body, soft carbonation. Well like I said a class of it’s own, not the best looking and smelling beer, but it’s taste is prety genius. No idea how it is fresh. But with 17 years aging stored in a good place it’s a masterpiece !

On hand pump at Teresa’s cafe in Wayne, PA. Tartness, slightly salty. A bit thin for the style.

Pour is hazed deep orangish amber with a good bit of white head. Nose is burnt sulfur, almost like the cooked ash of a firework. Taste is pretty rough, overly sweet and sugar with tons of burnt sufur and burnt out sparkler. Just bad, don’t drink.

375 ml bottle at home. Pours coppery golden with a faint head. Aroma is... sweet wood and pasteurised (very clear with commercial geuze), an unpleasant spiced green touch (cloves), cognac hints. Light body, some level of sourness but not as powerful as the real lambic beers, a tad tart towards the end. Pity this is positioned as a lambic beer while it isn’t;

12.7 oz bottle, poured into a snifter at ~50 degrees F. Appearance: Pours a deep cloudy yellow-amber, and forms a thick white head with good retention. Smell: Musty hay and funky mildew, with hints of melon, pear, and wheat that seems still green and growing as opposed to golden and ready for harvest. Taste: The flavors open sharp and tart, heavy with citrus and melon flavors, and the sharpness does not relent as it goes along. Barnyard funk rolls through as the beer progresses, bringing along some wheaten grassiness and sour pear flavors. There are vague hints of pepper and some herbal spices that appear here and there as well. Mouthfeel: Light and quite carbonated, possibly adding to the sharpness of the sour. Overall: Quite an enjoyable gueuze, pure yeast ester flavors left unmolested by hops or excessive malt. I will repeat this one.

Bottle at home. Pours amber with big, frothy off-white head. Aroma of horse stable, grass, citrus, flowers, perfume. Taste sour and tart, with horse stable, medicine, lemon, grapefruit, dust. Bitter medicine aftertaste. High carbonation.
