I’m a fan of Gueze bit this one is a disappointment. More sweet than sour, lacks og typical aromas.

Not a fan of this, as I was not a fan of the Fond Tradition Gueuze. Too much olive and dust, and too much carbonation. Not quite terrible, but for the style and the price, a definite let down.

Bottle at Goblins. Clear golden colour. Almost no head. Rather user friendly geuze, lots of caramelly sweetness nicely balancing the quite weak sourness. Clean bubblegum and barn flavour. Good one, not the most complex though.

Bottle at home as Premium Gueuze. Hazy grey-golden with small off white head, looks like swamp water. Some hay, apple, whisky on the nose, moldy bread, brown sugar, brown bread, pee, sour vegetables. Light sweet with soft bitter finish. Bit below medium bodied with light champagne-like carbonation. Has some good notes but the pee and vegetables make this more on the nasty side of things. still drinkable though.

25cl bottle. Clear brownish amber colour with a thin off-white head. Apple, pear and funky aroma. Average carbonation and light to medium body. Taste is more on the sweet side, more like a Faro than a Gueuze. Though, quite drinkable.

350 mL bottle. Pours amber with a two finger white head. Nose is simple grains and candi sugar, super mild brett funk and phenols. Sugary sweetness up front with a slight tartness to the finish. Moderate bodied with no aftertaste. Bland, the Molson of Lambic.

Tap. Maybe I like this Gueuze more than the others I’ve had in the past because it wasn’t extremely sour and biting, but after taking a sample taste I wound up drinking it for the rest of the night.

Pours a darker golden with some lazy bubbles, small amount of white head that sheets. Nose of syrup and socks with a nice sour sharpness to it. The taste however only has a mild sour that limits itself more to funk than fruits like sour apple or grapes, with heavy a syrup character that mostly flattens out the funk. Not a lot of complexity here. It’s feels like the Bud of Gueuze, but it’s still a Gueuze so it’s not bad.

@brabantsbierfestivaloirschot. Bottle 12-2013. Golden color with a off-white head. Smells and tastes fruity, apple, pear, sweet, sour, yeast.
