UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Pours a slightly cloudy caramel color with a thin white head. The aroma is slightly sour and fruity. The flavor has the same mild sourness and fruits, nothing too wild or authentic in there. The body is light with a dusty texture and soft carbonation.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JK (3400) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 26, 2008
Brought home from Belgium and aged for an additional year. Pretty weak for a lambic. Some barnyard and very light sourness, much more like a faro than a gueuze. Amber color and loads of sediment in large brown chunks. Some sugar and yeast.

250 ml bottle, Best Before 05/07, via one of my many generous overseas traders. Pours a clear brownish orange to light copper body. A small beige head retains as a thin film. Light visible carbonation. The aroma is of light sweaty funk almost completely obscured with artificial sweetner. Very reminiscent of the bottled Faros available. Yikes! Sweaty grains and sweetness lead off with a very short sweet finish with some wheat, lemon flavored iced tea, and some rotten fruit. Mouthfeel is thinnish with a watery texture and soft fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was about as good as expected. Not really sure why this is a Gueuze and not a Faro?
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ante (3375) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 7, 2003
My first gueuze.
Amber coloured with some white lacing. Some acidity in aroma with hints of hye and lemon. Taste is too sweet for my liking. Lime, sour candy and some hye is noticed. Too much carbonation. This one was really boring.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (3371) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 2, 2008
Nice clean crisp golden amber coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of hay, sour grapes, wheat, honeysuckle, vinegar and a tiny bit of malt. Light-bodied; Nice sour flavour up front with a good yeastie finish coupled with the vinegar and slightly sweet flavours you’d expect. Aftertaste shows some puckering, along with musty and grassy flavours throughout. Overall, a good gueuze - sweet and sour at the same time with a modestly meaty body. I sampled this 37.5 cL ’split’ bottle purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 02-January-2008 sampled on my birthday 30-June-2008.

Bottle: Poured a medium clear amber color ale with a huge white foamy head with good retention. Faint barnyard aroma can be detected as well as subtle sourness. Taste is sweeter then regular gueuze with some sweetness but no acidity. Complexity is quite low and I guess this would be more of a beginner gueuze then anything else.
