3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 markas101 (1439) - Sheffield, - NOV 5, 2009
37.5 cl bottle, Fargo, ND. USA via Chicago. Hazy deep golden colour, frothy soap like head that quickly vanishes. Aroma of apple, coriander and yeast. Tastes like a weak cider without too much overt sweetness. Mellow and slightly earthy on the finish.

Hazy amber pour. Small head to just a light haze of lace. Light tart nose. Taste is big flat tart with a bunch of leather and a bit of farmhouse funk. Nice white wine pucker puller. Light tart and vinegar.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 erickok (802) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - FEB 4, 2012
Golden body with smallish ugly white head. First sniff is vinigar, but the sourness is very mellow after that actually. Wheat, white sugar, squize of bottled lemon juice. Taste revelas ever more sugary sweetness and looses touch with its geuze roots. That’s okay, but it also has no complexity and isn’t refreshing. A very mild and sweet geuze then that will impress no one. (33cl bottle at Jan Primus)
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 callmemickey (710) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Clear orange-yellow body. Frothy one inch cap from the pour. Qickly receded. Lively carbonation. Aroma is full of lemon, orange, wheat, a bit of candy like sweetness. Taste is pleasantly sour. Citric fruits dominate with an artificial sweetness to the back end that doesn’t fit with the top end gueuzes. Carbonation was pleasant and refreshing on the tongue. Tartness and sourness were present but restrained. In theory I should hate this beer as it’s lacking that funk that makes gueuze, gueuze. However, it was a pleasant, mindless enjoyment.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Metalchopz (1173) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 14, 2011
Originally reviewed this brew May 2005, but found a newer one in my beer cellar (which is still good - best before end of 2011). Reviewed their Bacchus tonight and noticed I had not really liked this one back then. Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber colour with a decent creamy white cap that has great retention and dirty lacing. Tons of tiny bubble carbonation. Honey nose with citrus notes and fresh plastic. This chemical touch appears in the taste as well. It is basically what got me off the first time. The rest is alright with the mix of green apples and mild honey, but it does not save this Gueuze.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 13, 2011
Bottle from Asao. Aroma of sugary caramel, fruit, especially lemon, some yogurt, and e tiniest amount of funk. Very fruity in a sweet way. Deep gold with lace. Creamy, fruity, and sweet flavor. No funk. Lemon. Way too sweet. Neither sour nor bitter. Light body, though somewhat syrupy and soda-like carbonation. Not so good, really, but drinkable in small quantities.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gary (1014) - London and Rochester, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 3, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2011 (Bottled) You’re not meant to like this if you dig Gueuze put screw the pretense as this stuff is actually pleasant and refreshing; sweet but with a cool little leather like tartiness An easy going break from the customary hardcore Gueuzes I love.
