3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JoeMcPhee (6834) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 2, 2005
375 ml bottle, 11/2003. Deep-orange tan colour, persistent tan head. Nice leathery, horseblankety aroma, sweet faint lactic aroma. Flavour is quite thin and dusty, faint leather. Needs a lot more flavour though to match the aroma. Thin, light sugary finish. Aroma also has a bit of cherry and some cedar in the finish as well.

Bottle, LCBO Spring Release 05. Nice copper colour - very thin looking. Lots and lots of bubbles. Nice long lasting white head. Wine like sour aroma that was pretty light. Light to medium bodied mouthfeel. Interesting taste - some of the expected sourness, but really quite mild. Some hints of smoke and artificial citrus and sweetness. There was a bit of a "bottle" taste as well (Oct 05 Best Before). I enjoyed it somewhat and can see how it would be quite accessible for those who have not had this style before.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pineypower (1735) - Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA - JUL 9, 2009
Tap at Capone’s. Pours out a mostly clear light amber color with a small lacing head that sticks around. Aroma is vinous and rather tart, some notes of citrus. Taste is puckering tart and sour, some wood and some sweetness in there also, ok, but never really came together.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jefcon (1104) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAR 16, 2008
Draft. Sweet, yeasty aromas and a nice, dingy orange color. Fairly mild palate and light sour cherry notes. Good, light carbonation. Plenty of sweet fruit on the finish. Not dry at all or astringent. Gueze isn’t for everyone, but I’ve come to like the style, and this drinkable, mild example is one reason why.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 CharlesDarwin (2570) - Peace Dale, Rhode Island, USA - AUG 29, 2009
On tap at Track 84 - Warwick, RI. Aroma throws a light cheese
rind, musty cellar floor, and a bit of horsiness. Pours a
coppery-brown-tinted golden, with minimal head. Flavor is
immediately curt, thinning fast, and the slides towards light
lemon juice acidity. Lacking full acid body, this beer plays
thin. The characters are solid, but they feel washed out. Nice
funkiness in the wild basement, orchards, and animal sense
perseveres into the finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DonMagi (5599) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2007
Bottle after cellar accident shashed the neck off the bottle so i filtered it through a tea towel and got about 75ml. Aroma is reminisant of a flemish sour more than a lambic, tart cider vinigar and some funky hints, some sweet balsalmic notes also. Taste is sweet and sour, vinigar more than sour funk, still quite nice. My cuboard stinks of it now.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 saxo (7442) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2008
Sample at Aarhus beerfestival. Medium head with medium duration. Color is light amber. Aroma and taste are sweet and sour with the typical lactose acid.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Defreni (1781) - Husum, DENMARK - JUN 16, 2009
