12.7 oz bottle. Pours purple / brown with a pinkish / purple head. Smells kind of like cherries - more of a cherry cough drop smell. Medium body with very gentle carbonation. I was told by the beer shop this was a lambic on the dry side, I disagree. Quite a bit of sweetness that teeters between tasting natural & fake. Lots of cherry in the taste - on the order of cherry pie filling. None of the lambic style sourness. Strikes me as being close to a fruit beer. The finish has a bit of spice and astringency. While not great by any stretch, this isn’t a bad beer. It was not what I was looking for tonight.

As with the last St. Louis I had, I’m going to rate this as a fruit beer, rather than a lambic (like a New Glarus Fruit). Pours a ruby red color with a very thin head that gives a little lacing. The aroma is all cherries, very light funk. The flavor is cherry syrup stronger than ever, a little background funk and nothing tart at all. The flavor is unfortunately too thick and sweet to be refreshing, which is the main downfall. Not worth the dollars and way too sweet. If it had more complexity, I’d give it more props, but this thing is all cherries.

this is Belgian?! huh? beer for children and freshman college girls. it’s almost too sad to discuss. so overtly sweet and cherry in your face, reminding me of cherry syrup. it’s not as horrible as some american versions, but this is not what i expect from my beloved Belgium. even sweeter that lindeman’s. i miss the tartness, but i guess i’m a traditionalist. but, then, if you like new glarus belgian red, you’ll like this. can i say girly-drink without offending the women? desert brew all the way.

Bottle. Sweet cherry and musty basement aroma. Dark cherry red with small head. Sweet/sour cherry blended with musty flavor. Another non-traditional (or if you prefer fake) fruit lambic that is very sweet altough is does maintain some lambic qualities. If you like Lindemans you’ll like this but traditionalists will hate it for its inauthenticity.

250 ml bottle. Ruby red pour with a nice pink head. Aroma was a wonderful cherry pie filling. The flavor was a bit too sweet however. Lots of cherry and not much else. I was expecting a bit of tartness, but it really didn’t come through. Still tasty as a desert beer.

Bottled. Dark translucent red pour....fluffy pink head. Sweetish fruity, maybe cherry, aroma. Big sour twany on first sip, then some sugary sweet cherry syrup flavor. A little thin bodied...moderately carbonated. Finishes pretty tart...almost nasty sour. Not one of my favorites.

Bottled. Deep, ruby red pour with a respectable pink head. Smells of cherry candy. Sweer and sour, too much of each with seemingly no attempt at balance. I find this less artificial than their "premium," but not entirely free of syrupy and medicinal demons. Really, way too much sweetener, it affects detrimentally the palate as well as the taste, and the whole thing falls apart.

Deep dark red color, medium pink head. Cherry, bubble gum and sourness in aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Sweet start in flavor, ends with mildly sour, dry and bubble gum in aftertaste. Easy to drink.
