For 6 months the flesh of the fresh sour cherries slowly digests in the Lambic. The intense flavour of cherries and light nuances of almond from the pits determine the flavour of this fruity delicacy.

Note: ABV from 4.5% to 4% at some point.

On the tap in Lantern in Mestreech. Nice Red colour with soft reddish thin head cherry nose.( we still call it a beer ?!?!?!) Aroma is like cherrypie. Bitterness of the beer only appears at the first snip as flavour appears. Nicely composed limonade, very drinkable.

Thanks, Mr Stitch for grabbing this for me! Falls on the sweet girly side of fruit lambic. Aroma was nice. Strong cherry Jolly Rancher. Pour was a nice murky amber/light red with no head. Taste was like cherry pop. No alcohol detectable. After the swallow the sweet cherry flavor turns to tart and bites the side of the tongue. Nice novelty beer.

Bottle. Very fruity (cherries) and sweet. No head, dark red body. Light sweet start, then it gets light acidic, short duration. Light body, very dry texture, fizzy carbonation and a light astringent finish. Nice Kriek.

250ml Bottle-Red in colour with claret. Cherry and almonds in the aroma with a hint of fruit cake. Sweet and bitter taste with cherries and he fruit cake element featuring again. Not too sweet and quite refreshing although the after taste is rather short lived. It reminds me a bit of a liquid mince pie!

250ml bottle. Labeled as Vieux Bruxelles Kriek Lambik at 4% abv. Beautiful deep red body with a decent pink head. Aroma of artificial cherries and marzipan, not to bad actually. Flavor is sweet cherry, marzipan and almonds. I really prefer a kriek with a prude acid/brett flavor, but as a sweet candy version it’s almost OK for a few sips.

(25 cl bottle) Labeled 4% ABV. From Aldi supermarket. As "Vieux Bruxelles Kriek Lambik". BB 06-2009. On March 21, 2008. Sweet cherry, cherry pips, almonds scent. Also almond paste and marzipan. Clear deep red color, pink head. Quite beautiful. Sweet cherry, acidic, lactic taste. Acidic aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.

At Three cellars tasting (Thanks Shawn!!). This one had a strange odor I couldn’t quite pin down… not a very pleasant odor. Light red in appearance, semi-sweet and tart in drinking. I haven’t had too many Lambics, though this one is not one of the better ones, just okay.
