St. Louis Premium Cassis

Clear dark red color with a average to large, frothy, good lancing, mostly lasting, red head. Aroma is moderate black currant. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average duration. It is a syntetich berry alike. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (070608)

25 cL bottle. Pours deep dark red with a huge solid purple and creamy head. Blackberry aroma from the distance. Sweet and acidic and solid blackberry as it should be. Flavour is citric and of blackberries. Mainly like a juice than a fruitbeer. Citric and sweet at once. Lingering blackberry flavour into the far finish.

Very intense flamingo-red head, quite persistent, over nearly black purple beer. Fruity nose, cassis (that’s blackcurrant to you lot), for a short while, but then more currant leaf, parsley and pelargonium leaf. Not sweet smelling, however. Surprisingly neutral flavour first, fruity, even slightly tart, acidity even persisting! Not overly blackcurrant typed, however. Slight astringency, fruit-filled body, well- to overcarbonated. Surprised? Well, not me, not really anyway. Most important thing is, this is meant to be served chilled, frappée. Serve it "chambrée", don’t come complaining here. Whatever, cassis, OK, lambic it isn’t. Now I’ll hold my horses, because I’m starting to sound like Jeremy Clarkson, if slightly less witty.

Looks like grape soda with a lavender colored head. Aroma is weird minty grape. Flavor is sweet grape with some tartness. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry finish. Not one of my favorites. I won’t be having this again.
