Bottle at home from backlog notes 07. Pours a reddish color with a small pinkish head that disappeared quickly. The aroma and flavor have tart raspberry, mild acidity, light funk and a slight woody note. I think its better than the average, but not something to repeat.

Bottle from Dranken Geers in Gent. Very fruity with lots of raspberries. Musty and fruity and sweet. Slight fruity tart but not very sour. This kind of beer is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Keg. Appearance- light pinky red, one finger white head which persists. Aroma- fruity, zest hints, strawberry dominates though. Taste- lots of strawberry, sugary sweetness, a little cloying. A bit too much sweetness but still very drinkable.

As my entry into the world of Lambics, St. Louis proved to be an interesting if not great beer. This Lambic had a ruby color, a short-lived pink head, and a fizzy body. The sweetness was just shy of cloying but overall the flavor was quite mellow. This beer has a strong raspberry aroma and relatively sharp carbonation. If someone had told me to blind taste this I would have assumed this was raspberry soda. In the end, I didn’t get the tart, sour sensations I was hoping for. The overwhelming sweetness kills any potential for this beer to be good. I will admit, though, this brew does have an impressive depth of flavor considering the low alcohol content. Not bad for a hot day, but it certainly wouldn’t be my choice. That said, I am intrigued by the Lambic style, now.

Bottled 250ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Cloudy dark red coloured, small pinkish head, raspberry nose. Sweetish and pretty artificial raspberry taste with light acidic finish. Better than Peach but not much. Won’t be second time.
