Clear ruby, fluffy light pink head. Sweet cherry aroma. Slightly tart cherry flavour. More of a fruit beer than a lambic.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. 3.2%. Best before 07.15. Pours a clear, dark amber, with a pinkish head. Aroma is grassy and (artificial) cherry. Flavour is rather sweet, with cherry and chamomile (1), and a light honey note as it warms. Overall too sweet, but kind of okay actually. 28.02.15.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
375 ml. bottled 2013/01/09. Pours a clear, red-copper with a lasting film of pink cream on top. Nose is syrupy - lightly tart cherries cooked in brown sugar and cream. Taste is the same mix plus some earthy apples and a slight wooden bitterness. Light-medium body is to the sweet side and has a high level of carbonation that tends to remain pleasantly smooth. Not much lambic going on, but a decent fruit beer if you like cherries.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Dranken Geers. Pours clear red with a thick pink head. Aroma of massive cherries, a little tart but mostly cherry drop sweets and the slightest touch of funk in a dusty public toilet way. Flavor is fairly heavy sweet with any acidity unfortunately hidden. Mouthfeel is reminiscent of when they put a tooth in a glass of cola overnight at school to warn us what it does to your teeth. Hmm, I guess that lesson stuck. Over light bodied with light carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12.7oz bottle. Pours reddish purple with minimal head. Smells of tart cherries. Taste of sour cherries but not as sour or tart as I would like. Nice finish...decent beer.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
When AB InBev introduced their Belle-Vue Kriek Extra years ago, it came as no surprise that other commercially oriented lambic producers tried the same thing, and Van Honsebrouck - which has a history of jumping on every beer trend which sticks up its head - did the same thing: they created this even more sweet and syrupy, lighter, summery version of their St.-Louis Kriek. I don’t even like the original version, so I won’t bother giving further comment about this cloying summer drink. Approach this not as a beer and certainly not as a lambic.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours a dark reddish purple color with a small off white head. The aroma has sweet and tart cherry character with a mild earthy note. The taste is sweet cherries with a lightly tart cherry finish and a hint of earthiness throughout. Light bodied and refreshing. This is pretty much a fruit beer, no tart/sour/funky character you would expect in a lambic.
