Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head quickly disappearing. Nose is sweet, and flavor is good- very mellow plum and caramel, late bitterness faintly rouding it out. Not muc complexity but very enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Leighton (3598) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 7, 2012
Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, ruby-brown with a vivacious, khaki head. Lovely aroma, some candied fruits, light toffee, sweet bread. The flavor doesn’t quite match the nose. Medium sweet flavor, quite fruity, with the malty-toffee character taking a backseat. There is a strong, rather unpleasant medicinal booziness in here. Also some toasty malts. Medium bodied, warm, with fine to average carbonation. Warm finish, modestly sweet with boozy fruits, light toasted malts, faint leafy hops. After an auspicious beginning this beer falters.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick dark brown and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a roasted malty touch . This beer smells caramel.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 la_herisson (3) - - DEC 21, 2011 does not count
Fantastic fruity aroma, beautiful colour, deep taste with quite wide palete, so overall it is good belgian double. Tried it aged so, it had nice dusty and old impression
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 16, 2011
Apparently sample somewhat aged, unsure how much. Very good, tight dark cream head over opaque brown beer with reddish sheen. Intensely malty, sweetish-aromatic nose with some oxydation, portwine and (dark) honey, inviting. Sweetish/bitterish taste; if well-balanced, rather dullish and way much less complex than the nose. Bit (dark red) fruity & bubblegum. Medium bodied, bit slick, but feeling rather thinnish for a 7% beer. Nose proved remarkable; pity the rest didn’t follow.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 crossovert (2547) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 3, 2011
Awesome-lookings 500ml white speckles bottle with a red foil over the cap and neck and a little necklace booklet.
It initially struggles to form a greyish head but then it eventually bubbles up to near the rim of the glass. It leaves some decent lacing as it recedes. The beer is a murky dark reddish brown.
The aroma is sweet with a huge dark fruit aroma that carries and carries. It also has some cocoa toffee to it.
The flavor is rich and sweet, but the lower carbonation makes it seem richer. I am not the biggest fan of the mouthfeel, it kind of is a bit watery. The flavor is a bit one-demensional towards sugary sweetness, but it isn’t bad overall.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Prokroustis (361) - Thessaloniki, GREECE - AUG 31, 2011
Pitch dark brown with an off white head. Aroma has spices, fruits, caramel. Neutral flavour with some sweet and some cereal tones. Nice, but nothing very special.
