Two row spring barley from the south of England, a special strain of yeast, ice-age glacier water from the "Rotenburger Rinne," plus hops from the famous "Hallertau Hop Gardens" in southern Germany are the ingredients that give St. Pauli Girl Lager its unsurpassed quality and taste and keeps you coming back for more.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2005 Skunky aroma, as expected. The flavor and body of this beer self-destructs in the green bottle. Not a good beer.

Why bother? You run a 50% chance of getting a skunked bottle, and a fresh bottle isnít any good anyway. Pale straw (Coors Light), no head, some skunk in the nose alongside yeast. Flowery, yeasty flavors are not too appealing. This beer is helping to solidify lager as my least favorite style.

Sharp, crisp aroma, often skunky. This is an overrated, expensive beer. One dimensional (hop) flavor, and canít get over that aftertaste!

Another one of those solid, middle of the road beers in a green bottle. Better than Heinie, about as good as Beckís, Not as good as Grolsch.

Pale, thin color. Small head. Euro-skunky nose. Slight hop finish with thick grainy sweetness. Overall, an unimpressive, overrated beer. For less money you can buy a 6 pack of the superior Warsteiner.
