1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a clear yellow appearance with a thin off white head. There is some DMS in the nose along with dough, cracker, and some floral notes. A bit twangy note on the finish. Spritzy. Lightly bitter and sweet. Kind of bland and watery. Just a bit of toast. Quite boring and not very good. I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d want to get fucked up on this shit. I’d take a good ol’ fashioned American-made Budweiser over this.

On tap. To think, 20 years ago, I used to think this was the best beer on earth. My how times change. Poured a very light yellow with no head. Not much to the smell or tastes. Light hops and a little skunky. Pass…

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2012 Bottle: Golden, clear, small white foamy layer, grassy and papery nose; light bodied and a bit tart, dryish bitter-sweet flavour; bitter and watery finish. Yes, surely this glorious beer will multiply the glory of german beer in the world...

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2003 All-around average beer. There are much better Pilsners out there that are less skunky.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Mmmmm, skunk. Damn you green bottle and your hop-sullying ways. Pale gold, thin white head. The aforementioned skunk, some pale malt still pokes through though. Flavour probably used to be good. Nice malt backbone and enough bitterness left to almost distract you from the smell of a polecat’s ass (but not quite)

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
For a classic German Pils or whatever this one is an abomination. I would consider it more of an EPL.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Sweet-sour, slightly musty aroma. Light golden yellow with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt with a mild hops finish. I can see why I thought this was the world’s greatest beer back in my BMC days. Oh well, New Year’s Eve is meant to be spent with old friends even if they don’t mean as much to you as they use to.
