Two row spring barley from the south of England, a special strain of yeast, ice-age glacier water from the "Rotenburger Rinne," plus hops from the famous "Hallertau Hop Gardens" in southern Germany are the ingredients that give St. Pauli Girl Lager its unsurpassed quality and taste and keeps you coming back for more.

Tastes like Heineken. If you like this sort of beer, there are far better values to be found for your dollar.

A thoroughly bland, tasteless, and boring beer. The only time it has flavor is when its green bottle allows it to get skunked easily. Regardless of its description, this has nothing even vaguely resembling a ’hoppy aroma’.

This is quite average, I used to like it 10 years ago but as my tastes mature and the skunky aroma is a turn-off on this one. This should be ’Extra Skunky Pilsener’...

Good appearance, golden color, otherwise it sucks.

I knew they don't drink this in Germany but I just had to try it. Possibly the most awful heavily marketed beer I have tried. Take out the bitterness and you have macro light and a lousy one at that. An insult to its category and its taster.

Absolutely not the best German lager I've ever had, by far. Pours out thin, watery & horse piss yellow. Do the Germans really drink this crap, or do they export it to America & laugh their asses off? Severely skunked, bitter, watery. Not at all what I'd expect from a German brewery. Actually took me by surprize by how bad it truly is. Save your money gang.

Surprisingly, this attractive looking and smelling beer tastes terrible. My friend and I had to brush our teeth afterward to get the taste out of our mouths. Definitely not the worst beer in the world, but not even close to tolerable.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2004 Another green bottle from Europe?? What do you think? Of course it has the requisite skunky taste. The label is as corny as the taste as the taste of the beer. Also, grass and hops in the VERY subtle taste. Way overpriced. This sucks. If you want a lager, here are many other choices.

Bottle at NYNY casino bar: aroma was seriously skunked, and the flavor is nothing to write home about.Didn't bother with pouring, as I'm sure the appearance is boring old yellow. I could taste carbonation and a little malt, but that's it. Better than Heineken, but not as good as Beck's. Bleh
