Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a nice dark brown black with a fine head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt. Taste is a caramelized malt. Finish is clean. A very nice $30 case of beer.

Stray 12oz bottle over at Kristin and Garys. Cola Brown pour with a slight khaki ring. Aroma is toasted malt and nutty. Tastes are buttery, cocoa, caramel sweet, little metallic vibe, kinda bland.

Pours dark brown with ruby tints. Head is small; very little lacing. Aroma has some dark reddish sweet malts and some weak hops. Starts out a little toasty and sweet, fades quickly, and then some of the toast and sweet malts linger in the aftertaste, if not very much. Also a little metallic. Honestly, I was expecting worse, so can’t complain too much. It’s drinkable.

Poured from a 13 year old bottle, thanks to Jeremy. Toast, malty, caramel, bready, fig, toffee, oxidized. Had a fresh bottle at the same time. The fresh bottle had skunky notes, malty, pilsner malt. I prefer the aged bottle.

13 year-old bottle consumed in 2013. :). Brown, clear, thin beige head. Bready malt, light chocolate, some figs. Flavor of bready malt, nutty notes, dark fruit, quite oxidized though (wet cardboard) as you'd expect. Not bad for 13 year old St.Pauli Girl. ---Fresh bottle: Same appearance. Aroma of pilsner malt, slight chocolate. Flavor is grainy. slight chocolate. little else. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 22, 2013 Cold and served in a bottle, so not awful. But very light and didn’t get the malty tasted as advertised.

Pours clear, dark brown with a chunky, beige head. Malt aroma, dark bread....a hint of brownies. Taste is roasted grain, malt, ..again, a little chocolate. Quite a bit of corn notes. The dusty-grainy-ness detracts quite a bit. Not awful, a bit better than regular St. PG.
