Smooth beer with a light hop character and rich malty taste.

Bottle at home. Pours clear brown with a small, frothy light beige head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is toast and light chocolate malt, dates and figs, light earthy and spicy hops with faint caramel notes. Flavor is malt dominant with dark fruits, light hops and bitterness with a lightly dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Crystal clear, copper lager with a medium-sized, creamy, beige head. Decent retention; good lacing. The aroma is of tawny port, maple syrup, milk chocolate and brown sugar. The flavor is a touch on the sweet and thin side. Poorly hopped. None of the nice elements of the nose make an appearance in the flavor. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, sweet, watery finish.

I like this beer for a big macro brew. Dark brown pour. Off white head. Aromas of malt and maybe some yeast. A tiny bit sweet on the tongue. Slight amt of bitterness on the finish...not too bad.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a deep burgundy orange appearance with a thin light brown head. Toasty grain / caramel / nutty, cookie dough aroma with mild hops and a bit of skunk. Burnt sugar / caramel, slightly sweet, a bit metallic, mild cardboard flavor. Bottle seems a bit old but I really never liked this beer much at all. Hopefully this is the last time I’ll ever drink it.

Better than the original St. Pauli Girl but that isn’t really a big acomplishment in my opinion. Got this at a wedding recep (it was either this or Corona Light) so I figured what the heck. Dark honey color with a medium thick beige head with little lacing. Slight malt nose but nothing to write home about. Light malt and nut flavoring but again they aren’t really pushing the envelope here. I would not go out of my way to get it again.

Deep brown beer with a thick fast fading tan head. Aroma is fairly sweet and toasty. Nice light sweet malty aroma. A lot more character than I expected. Sweet nuts, hazelnuts and a light herbal cocoaish character. Lightly skunky but this fades fairly quickly. Flavour is decent... soft toasted malts, sweet and lightly plummy with a bit of toastiness. Lingering sweetness.

Toasted bread and mildly caustic maple flavors. Decently dry palate, but lacking any depth of flavors. Smells a bit like an old bottle, dusty and mild scented wood and caramel malts, some munich as well. Very bland.

Bottle. Sour malt aroma - slight skunikiness. Cola color with small head. Sour malt and light molasses flavor. Probably would be a little better if I’d gotten a fresher bottle but still doubt a beer much better than average.

This one has an amber color, with aromas of malt, slight nuts, and slight iced tea. Tastes malty, with hints of nuts and a slight iced tea/coffee finish.

Bottled, BB 03/07. Poured a clear, ruby-tinted iced tea brown with a dusting of off-white head remaining. Nose was a touch skunky with sweet, non-descript darker malts and a hint of floral. The flavor lost any semblance of skunk and provided chocolate and bready malts, light herbal bitterness, and a slightly burnt finish. Light-bodied and grainy on the palate. This was a decent drink.
