COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Pete Orange Wheat is the first of many beer varieties by St. Pete Brew that will be offered in 2011. St. Pete Orange Wheat is a wonderful anytime American style wheat beer with a hint of orange and coriander that subtly tingle the palette.

Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.; thanks burg326). Looks decent; a hazy dark lemon with white lacing that quickly dissipates. Smells milder than it tastes, but both have notes of yeast, coriander, and wheat with a bit of orange. Average on the palate. An unoffensive easy drinker.

its light, its refreshing, its bland. in the pantheon of other american wheat ales, this is nothing special. unfortunate, since this is my hometown beer. here’s hoping they make some other stuff.

12 ounce bottle pours a light orange color with aromas of light fruity yeast, coriander, light wheat, and some light orange. Flavors are the same, light fruit in aftertaste, slightly watery and a touch of cream.

The aroma is a bit watery but does have some citrus and wheat as well as a fruity yeastiness. The appearance is cloudy gold with a small head. The taste is really good but also watery. The palate is thin, as was expected. The beer is somewhat amateurish but in a very yummy home brew kind of way. I think this beer is very refreshing.

Orange Wheat is by no means my favourite of this style, but it outperforms expectations by a wide stretch. The balance is perfect for the Florida climate and this new upstart brew company deserves a real look. Bravo.
