Dark amber pour, with a thin head and nice lacing at the top of the glass. Somewhat weak nose, mostly malt with a whiff of floral hops. Taste is smooth. Malts, some fruit, hops towards the end, pleasant carbonation. Nice fresh finish, with a lingering hop aftertaste. Complex to a degree. It's good, but doesn't deliver the "BAMM" as Emerill would say, that perhaps a rogue or fullers would. Even smoother when warmed.

Copper colour. Quite malty nose - dried fruit/Christmas pudding nose - rather surprising for a 3.7% beer. A bit low on aroma hops to my mind, as a result of which the nose seems a little dull. On the palate there are dried fruit flavours, with a quite dry bitter finish that pulls things together nicely. Surprisingly complex, characterful and full-bodied for a basic bitter. Shame they pasteurise it, but nice nevertheless. Bottled, October 2003.

Bottle. From BeersOfEurope. BBE June 2004. Decent colour - amber with scarlet hue. A sad pale malt aroma with stale hops and a touch of damp wood - not bad, but not that appealing. Mouthfeel is good - has just the right amount of firmness and bite. Fruit is acceptable rather than delicious. The hops are good. A really nice cleansing bitterness, not harsh, but definately firm and bold. Some tangerine and marmalade flavours come through. I’ve not had a St Peter’s in the cask yet, but this tasty bitter is making me want to go out and try some. The flaws here are more to do with the packaging method than the brewing. This would be quite wonderful in a fresh cask.

First let me say... great bottling! My uncle bought this one for our annual Xmas beer exchange and we enjoyed the hell out of it. Nice copper color and poured with not much head but still had decent carbonation. Not as bitter as you may think, but still a great smooth mouthfeel and almost a nutty, brown ale like finish. Good body and flavor. Another good British Beer

Pours pale amber with almost no head and good lace. Malty aroma with a little fruit. Good malty flavor with a slight honey/fruit . Good hop finish. A bitter/grassy aftertaste. Nice mouthfeel. Very good. A nice bitter.

A great best bitter. This was the first beer I tried from St. Peters and I'm impressed. Has good flavor but the finish was great. Nice bitter finish. Crisp and clean.

Cask Conditioned at The Saye & Sele Arms, Broughton, Oxon. Amber orange beer with incredibly lasting head. This had a chemical, sprouty, cabbage water flavour that gave a sour palate that wasn't compensated by alcohol. St. Peters should be congratulated for trying to push at the boundaries hence not a totally negative score, but this wasn't my thing at all.
