This is a nice session ale with an aroma of fruity esters and resiny hops. The flavour starts with spicy hops, but turns piney and citrusy with a long, dry finish. Malt flavour is there, but it’s subtle.

Bottled. Butterscotchy aroma with musty tea leaf hop back-up, and faint (milk) chocolate. Clear red and lacy. Pleasant bittering hop and caramelised malt. A teaspoon of soil. Chalk, wood, walnut, caramel, slight chocolate. Solid, flavoursome BB.

500 ml bottle. Golden, pale reddish body with an off-white head. Aroma is a bit strange, boiled vegetables, not very nice. Flavor is weak bitter, not harmonic and a long harsh finish. Something might be wrong with this bottle.

500mL bottle purchased from LCBO. Thank Dog for the LCBO employees who are there to cross out the 3.7% alc/vol label and affix their own 4.4% label! There’s my tax dollars well spent. Pours a slightly cloudy light gold. Light funky hop aroma. Flavour is rather nice, particularly in the bitter aftertaste.

A Mes rate: Bottle at the Jerusalem Tavern.
Copper coloured with a thin bubbly head. Straight forward caramel malt aroma with slight tobacco and tea. They both come to the front in the flavour and I dont much care for it in all honesty but some nice nutty and hoppy notes save the day. Just.
