Bottle at The Jerusalem Tavern, copper/brown with a filmy head. Quite a malty aroma, but touches of hops that carries through musty honey. A light mouthfeel with a good hoppy bite and a light bitterness in the finish.

Amber with a white head. Toasted malt aroma. The taste has a little sweet malt, but is dominated by rather aggressive bitterness.

Bottle: pours a clear chestnut colour with a beige head which disappears quickly; full in the mouth with a nutty caramel flavour leading to a pleasantly bitter aftertaste. An excellent bitter for its strength.

The aroma is like cola with caramel malt and hops. The appearance is amber with almost no head. The flavor is astringently bitter with paper, toffee, and toasted malt. The palate is watery and the finish is bitter and tastes like poor quality coffee. Whether it’s by design or accident this beer is almost without carbonation. This is not good, maybe it’s stale.

Dark brown. Small white head. Moderate malty aroma. Hoppy flavour with notes of caramel and fruity sweetness. Light bitter ending (half pint served at ambient temperature at Jerusalem Tavern 18.09.2006).

A dark, amber, brown coloured beer, with a weak white head. A crisp hop aroma, with a slightly sweet, biscuity malt background. The taste is bitter, but light, good hop taste, crisp and slightly zesty. Then a mellow malt flavour that balances the taste to the finish. (Bottle - purchased from the brewery’s stall @ the 2005 Sandringham Christmas Food Fair).

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Somewhat irregular caramel aroma. Light and slightly watery with accents of nuts and caramel. A light bitter finish. Very quaffable and easygoing Bitter. 270706
