Dull dark golden color with a smaller off white head. Light fruit and nut aroma - a dry fruit cake quality. English malts dominate, nutty and true ale yeast flavors. Slightly metallic with a dry honey and hay finish. Gets smoother and some more malt and honey flavors come out as it warms.

Bronze in colour, creamy caramel colour head that dissipated rather quickly. Long bitter aftertaste, very enjoyable.

Clear amber color. Hoppy malty aroma. A nice balanced malty bitterness with a dry finish. A really nice bitter on a hot day.

Bottle. Hazy amber coloured with a small and persistent off-white foam. Distinctive hoppy aromas over a bed of fruity, juicy malt. Solid bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied. Lingering dry hoppy finish, accompanied by some fruity flavours. Good old England.......

A good English bitter. Heavy with malts and creamier than expected. A very hoppy bitter and much better on tap. I am surprised by the malt. An English bitter with a more Belgian malt twist. I appreciate this a lot though. I enjoyed this on tap at the Rake. Conditioning spot on.

(500ml Bottle) Mid amber orange with small white head. Malt, and citrus hop smell but not particularly strong. Taste was actually suprising, I was expecting bland 3.7 bitter but got a suprisingly hoppy and actually BITTER bitter, with a bitter finish. A little malt sweetness balanced it all out and left me with a very good ’best bitter;. A little citrus and toffee too. Drawback is overall straightforwardness of the beer, and that the texture was a little watery for my liking. Still good though!
