50 cl bottle from Meny Liertoppen. Pours clear orange with a medium, creamy head. Malty aroma with some raisin notes. Flavour is raisins and hops. Light body, low carbonation. Ok but a bit boring as most of the St.Peters...

Gravity cask at Jerusalem Tavern, Farringdon. Dark amber orange, still, slight haze, small foamy off-white head, full lacing. Aroma is soft, malty, shortbread biscuit. Body is light, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is smooth toffee, musty hop character, seeded bread, some tangy under-ripe fruit, soft bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable. A good bitter.

Bottle sample @ Il Pretesto, Bologna.

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 8B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: malt aroma background with a caramely and dried grapes profile. mild hop and roasteds notes. APPEARANCE: copper color and translucent. slight ivory thin head with low retention. TASTE: roasted notes noticeable with some low maltiness and faint floral hop notes. high bitterness that lingers well beyond a not totally dry finish. PALATE: low body with low carbonation. OVERALL: a best bitter bitter that lacks a bit more of esters, malt complexity and body.

Bue en bouteille de 50cl, couleur rousse, peu d’effervescence et peu de mousse, une bière avec un arôme grillé prononcé et avec un goût puissant de malt en fin de bouche pas mon style du tout.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute and a half. There was some light foamy lacing trying to cling but sliding for the most part. The smell was herbal and earthy, slightly soapy but letting a decent sweet English malt to enter in gently. The taste was herbally sweet soapy earthiness coming all about in and out of itself. There is some some bitterness coming in. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Overall, not a bad beer, another one I’d have to warm up to if I had it again. However, if any of the beers I had from this company, this would probably go best with fish n’ chips.
