Draught, Townhall pub, Newtown, Sydney. Pale yellow beer with a slight haze and loose foam. Aroma has a nice amount of hop citrus zest about it. Some grainy pale/pilsner malt in the background. Medium-to-lean body, high carbonation. Good bitterness and lemon rind sort of hop flavours on the body, but an underlying DMS/burnt corn flavour is tolerable at first but becomes overwelming by the end of the schooner. Not a bad beer, just a bit let down by that DMS fault that iím starting to become quite sensitive to.

Tried on tap at the PumpHouse back in early March. Not sure that this was a pale lager, it had some soft clove and banana notes on a yellow body.

On tap at the Nags. Good choice to fill the jugs. Nice yellow colour which refreshes before it hits the lips. Creamy mouthfeel and a hint of wheat beer banana-ness about it.

On tap at, sigh, Town Hall hotel. Very clear almost fluorescent yellow. Slight citrus lemon aromas. Iím going to have to give it more marks just for breaking the monotimy of the local carlton/tooheys pale lager stranglehold.

On tap at the pumphouse brewery. Light pale yellow with a white head that is huge and poofy. Very thick and beautiful looking beer. Aroma of straw and wheat. A delicious flavor for such a light beer. Creamy milky aroma. Super thick head to the end.

Tap at the Nagís Head: Clear yellow with a solid white head. Slightly grassy grain aromas, some faint wheatiness though really not much of anything. In the mouth a well made, though boring Pale Lager is revealed. Nonetheless, a well placed lemony grain juiciness gives some compensation for the general blandness.

How refreshment. Lovely colour, with a clean buttery flavour. So nice to see this beer pop up in pubs around sydney. Dont expect too much in the way of complicated lingering flavours, but for what it is top marks. St perters brewery has set a real precedent here, i hope other micro breweries start opening up in Sydney there is a real mafket for them, as it is an untapped commodity.

very pale, very flavourless, soapily sweet, over-clean. lychees and overripe white grapes. st peters beer should be scungier, like dubsís monstre chocolate stout. whatís a íbice smooth flavourí like it says in the comm. descr. anyway? bison flavour?

Nice to see a truly local beer on tap in the Newtown area. Had this at the Golden Barley and the Carlisle. Its got a very weak wheat thing going without much else (there is a slight buttery after taste and eczematic suggested lychees). Very lightly hopped which makes it easy to put down, and god knows when Im in the mood I can sink a whole keg. In conclusion, Blonde is an all-night-long Newtown beer for the summer months, chillin with good friends or just drowning sorrows after gettin dumped. I saw the factory by the way (just a coupla streets away from me ouse) which was a real dump, and spied heaps of bags of white sugar out front... Oh well. Anyway, I like that this guy is such a purist I guess. As far as I can tell there is only three pubs in the world where this is sold, and it aint bottled: good to see a local brewer giving us some alternatives in the neighbourhood. Peace.
