500 ml. syrup-like bottle. Pours an amber colour, with a thin head that fades soon, leaving a thin lace. Smell of whisky or barrel aged beer, dried fruits, prunes. Medium body, sticky palate and average carbonation. Taste of oak aged brew, toffee, figs, dried fruits. Maybe some pepper too.

Bottle courtesy of dad at his house, Rawson Green, Kilburn, Derbyshire (cheers dad!), Friday 21st February 2014 Ruby appearance with a nice pittle glint and an off-white head. Iíve not had a St Peters beer for quite a while so was quite interested to try this one and pleased to find I actually rather enjoyed it. Malty and a little sweet on the nose with a little nuttiness. In the mouth it is fruity but predominantly dark fruits a bit bready sort of bread puddingy with some spiciness showing. A nice beer. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

0.5l bottle. Floating clear and dark nuttybrown almost amber colored in the glass with a minimum amount of a bubbly light beige quickly fading top. On the nose this is light nutty, notes of cake perhaps with a light roasted coffee tone as well. Also I get a toffee sweetness and a little bit of nutmeg and yeast. Not bad at all. Tastes alright as well. Nice and malt sweet all the way. Itís full bodied with a good oily mouthfeel and an average carbonation level. Itís actually not hard to taste the alcohol here and that bitter almost roasted coffee touch found in the aroma sticks in the taste also. Yeasty finish with more bitter nuts. Not bad at all, one of the better Iíve had from these guys. 16.11.2013

Bottle from the St Peterís Brewery. Poured ruby with a thin, off white head. Aroma of caramel, orange peal and malt; not particularly overpowering on the Christmassy wafts. Initial flavour was very bitter with notes of citrus rind, grass and what I could only describe as Christmas Tree... or what I guess it would taste like - that aroma wasnít too noticeable, until I put it to my lips. Finish was nicer, with some dry grain, prunes and brown sugar.

Bottle. Brownish bronze beer with a relatively strong head. The aroma is lightly bitter, malty and vinous, and the flavour is very malty with gentle bitterness, burnt roastedíness, and vinousness. Overall a nice malty, quite roasted, and mildly bitter English beer.
