Very smooth ale that suited the roast dinner. Light enough to be easy to drink but full flavored with Yuletide tastes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle @ room temp /19c as advised on bottle.Fruity berry aroma with herb / spice. Gentle taste of black fruit gum sweets circa 1986. Slightly crystalline sugary mouthfeel like finely liquidised dates. Cinnamony ginger. Slight chocolate hint. Hint of whisky oakiness. Would go well with crimbo pud / mince pies. Not bad for a crimbo beer.

500ml bottle. Red/orange colour with a very small white head which vanishes quickly. The aroma is sweet caramel and fruit. The flavour is similar but with a lightly spicy finish. Uninspiring ale though. Really quite poor. Smells better than it tastes. Not as full flavoured as you would expect of the high abv

Draught at Taphouse. Clear orange colored with a medium sized off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel and marzipan. Fruity flavor of caramel and dried fruits with notes of hops and marzipan. Hoppy finish.

Ruby color with small heads. English hops, smells like a stronger red ale. Bitter taste, a bit boozy. Weird bitter finish. Not really balanced. Smooth english ale carbonation, light-bodied. The aroma is nice, but the taste is really boring after the good aroma...

It comes in a medicine bottle, it smells slightly medicinal and it tastes very much like medicine. Not a nice ale

Bottle, from Tesco. Red brown, thin short lived off white head and gentle condition. Pleasant fruity bit dry and sweet chocolate mixed with a slightly peppery hop note in the nose, quite dry and bitter in the mouth with a muted fruitiness and some hints of yeastiness, strength is well hidden, finish is slightly hop bitter and has hints of berries and chocolate lingering

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2014 Red cognac colour, not enough foam, a hint of caramel, a little taste of medicine. Nice little bitterness. I expected more with this alcohol level.

Excellent beer. Very sweet aromas and flavors of caramel, toffee, fruit with a slight presence of noble hops. Full bodied with a sweet finish. A nice sweet beer for the holidays.
