Pint bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a near black with purple highlights. A khaki colored head appears with the pour, but dissipates pretty quickly. The aroma is ashy, dark bitter chocolate, licorice, fruity pebbles. The taste is more on the dry bitter side. Medium bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 13B). Bottle 50 cl - batch unknown. AROMA: sweet roasted aroma with a cream-like character. notes of dark chocolate and no hop aromas. APPEARANCE: very dark Brown color with dark ruby highlights. moussy tanned head with below average retention. TASTE: sweet chocolate flavour with faint notes of coffe on the background. low bitterness with a balanced sweet and roasted finish. PALATE: medium-low body and somewhat creamy. medium carbonation. OVERALL: an interesting cream stout that would benefit from an improved body.

0,5 bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black colour with medium brown creamy head. Fully lasting head, cloudy liquid, thick density. Medium to full body, oily texture. Flat carbonation. Alcoholoic aroma with dark roasted bread, chocolate, light hoppy, cask wood, red wine. Initial taste is moderate sweet, light acidic and bitter. Some cocoa and roasted malt. Finish duration is average to long, moderate astringent, light alcoholic and coffee. Amazing beer.

The choclate flavor finds its prolongation in the tase. A very nice chocolate caramel taste combined with a hint of fruityness, coming from the use of two hop sorts. The first sip might be a bit surprising, due to this very light acid note, but it levels the stong roast character and rounds it up. A bit like adding sugar to a salad dressing. The aftertaste could be more persisting in my eyes. With every sip you want to take immediately the next one - other stouts last in the mouth and you can still enjoy without taking a next sip. But maybe the brewers want exactly this effect... This is a very good stout with a surprising fruity side note, even bit acid. A very nice beer to accompany nut-cakes. Why I gave only 7 points for the overall taste? I miss the round, full bodied after taste. This is a bit too light for a stout in my eyes.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a very near black, with a halo of tan head. Aroma of chocolate, slightly sweet coffee and dried fruit. Medium to full mouthfeel. Flavours are sweet, but not saccharine; cocoa, mocha and some roasted malt to balance. Finish was fairly light, some brown sugar, dates and chewy malt.

Juste sympathique.

The aroma of this beer is full of chocolate and coffee. The color is pitch black and no light is penetrating the glass. Perfect! The taste is very medium for a stout so a relative big amount can be consumed. It feels very creamy and silky on the tongue. Also a bittersweet aftertaste. A really nice beer!

500 ml AppearanceL Deep dark brown colour with a smal but dense tanned head. Head has a good retention, leaving a few Small spots. Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate Taste: Sweet with a bit of bitterness, burned malts and coffee. Intension of bitterness caused by the roasted malts goes slightly up in the finish. and atertaste. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. A very fine stout. Look not the most complex one, but it’’s ver refined.
