Bottle. Literally black coloured with some ruby spots, stable mid-sized beige creamy head. Dried fruits, roasted malt and molasses in the solid aroma. Robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, creamy MF indeed. Lingering sweet-fruity, later drier bitter finish with an almost smoky touch. Good, fine English quality.............

I tried this beer on October 10, 2008 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a dark brownish-black. When held up against sunlight, there was a trace of light getting throogh. The head was thin, bubbly, and gone in an instant. The aroma was roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and slightly creamy. The flavour profile is similar to the aroma, roasted malt with a definite cocoa like taste and feel.

Crushed with Jakebra. Lots of coffee and tobacco in there. Sweetly sour finish. Expected it to be creamier I guess. Very thin-bodied but lots of flavor compared to the body.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee and light roasted malt. Taste is also dominated by some dry coffee with some roasted malt. Body is somewhat creamy, which I enjoyed, but also too thin with some average carbonation. Not bad but definitely one of the best from this hit or miss brewery.

A black colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, wit dark fruits. The taste of roasted malt, some bitter chocolate and sweets in the back. A little fruity like raisins. The aftertaste is dry and bittersweet.
