Bottle thanks to mmm///beer. Man thanks big time for this gem. First off, as I have said before I am simply a sucker for a nice English Stout, in my opinion they are some of the best beers in the world. This beer is proof positive. Pours a pure black color, some reddish light tries in to come through, but barely. A nice thick brown head tops the brew. A great aroma of rich brown sugar, roasted malts, hops, some fruit, and some smoky/meaty flavors too. The flavor is top notch; initial sweet chocolate and brown sugar flavors followed by a nice smooth fruitiness. Throughout the roasted malt flavors are dominant. Some vanilla and bitter hops in the finish. Milky and creamy flavors combine with a great creamy and full body to produce and awesome brew. Just great.

Pours with a very thin head. Very thin mouthful with that oily taste that comes with some stouts. Like a baby imperial stout without the complexity...but still a bit too strong to be a sessionable beer. lost between the cracks?? on the plus side it comes in a beautiful bottle...

Bottle 50cl @ home.
Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, burnt, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily - creamy and smooth, carbonation is soft. (100708)

Bottle. Jet black with a small tan head. Muted nose of booze and black licorice. Flavors of burnt coffee and slightly skunked malts. It actually tastes similar to a not-so-well-balanced American Imperial Stout, but without the alcohol burn.

Bottle, nearly a year old. I recall having this in the past and not loving it, but I found it quite tasty upon revisiting. Black pour, pillowy tan had. Flavors of roasty coffee, bitter chocolate, and lactose. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Hint of coffee. Smooth. Not as smooth as Guiness, more complex.Lots of roasted malt. I like this. Got better as I drank it. Very drinkable.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a lovely tan, thoroughly stout head which gradually deflates, fabulous lacing, wonderful blackish brown color, nose with yeast, malt, bit of coffee, some chocolate, tastes of malts, finish slightly bitter...mouth feel initially a little light, but then the tiny bubbled carbonation comes in and "creams". Nice, but fairly average for the style.
