Info: 500ml bottle, 19/8-2007 Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Jun 29, 2008 6/28/08 From the bottle. Aroma is sweet dried fruit and alcohol. Appearance is very dark brown with a low cream colored head. Flavor is big and complex, but light on sweetness for a cream stout. It has fruit, deep roast malt and a little alcohol. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a moderate carb texture and medium creaminess. Overall, not what I expected, but there’s a hell of a lot of interesting/complex goodness here. greenmanalishi (296), Leicestershire, England Jun 26, 2008 bottle. wasn’t getting too much from the aroma here but pours an ultra dark red/black with a small tan head.
flavours of coffee bean, cocoa powder, roasted malts and some alcohol. full mouthfeel with creamy texture and slightly sticky, powdery finish that fell a little short of my expectaions. ChrisTurner (202), Melbourne, Australia Jun 21, 2008 Drunk at room temperature (not me, the beer). Deep, impenetrable black with a dense cappuccino-like head with some retention. Plenty of lacing. Gentle aroma of milk chocolate. Delicious, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is all chocolate with a touch of roasted bitterness. Gently bitter aftertase. There is sweetness in the flavour and aroma but it’s never cloying. An absolute delight from beginning to end. shanepardue (107), Raytown, Missouri, USA Jun 17, 2008 thick tan head, black body. creamy licorice flavor with a nice stoutish bitter aftertaste. KimJohansen (6678), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jun 16, 2008 Cask @ Jerusalem Tavern. Black with medium beige head. Mild aroma of roasted malt and caramel.
