Biggish brown lasting head. Opaque black body goes just barely dark red at edges. Fruity roasty aroma with sugary licorice notes. Dry roasty caramelly taste with light wooden fruity notes. Slightly fizzy. Some sweetness. Full, yet light, body. Soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dry roasty salt licorice aftertaste, strong, distinct, and lasting. Licorice taste settles in the mouth as you drink. Very nice. (0.5l bottle, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. Rerated at Jerusalem Tavern, London. Scores averaged.)

Bottle. Pour with a nice thick head which dissipates quickly to a thin tan coat. laces the glass as it is drank. very dark. nice aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. very nice bitter chocolate taste which is creamy. Very nice to drink and overall a very creamy and solid beer. NOTE: I had to rewrite my review because the previous bottle I drank turns out to definetly have been mishandled or left in the sun or something. Be careful where you buy your beer from.

Dark brown, black, opaque beer.1 inch tan foam head, that lasts a long time. A lot of lace. Aroma of baking chocolate, and dark roast. Flavor is bitter, sharp, tastes like overly roasted malts and little like alcohol. A real letdown. It’s really like getting everclear up your nose, with some coffee and milk.

An aroma of raisin and roasted malt. Dark purple to black body with a thin chocolate-tan head. Lots of malt and smoke, a bit of cream. A little hops. Wakes up the bottom of the tongue. Smoke and effervescence, followed by stone square fermentation (Sammy Smith). Smokey and sweet.

500ml bottle. No head. Tastes like smoked bacon - which is fine, but I don’t think its supposed to. Thin bodied. I didn’t pick up on any creaminess. Disappointing.

[500ml bottle from brewery shop] Shared with Dave. Brown head dissipates quickly. Despite the name, there’s no creaminess here. Very bitter at first, strong coffee flavour with a hint of chocolate, a bit of treacle and some sourness. Treacle becomes dominant in aftertaste leaving a bittersweet stickiness in the mouth.
