KawaBomber (193), New Jersey, USA May 14, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown w/ a brown head. Have to be honest, this aroma is foul. Really foul. All I can pull out is some caramel amongst the foul. Flavor: Caramel & day old coffee. Not pretty. I haven’t had a beer this bad in quite some time. Nasty squared, maybe even cubed. Vyaches (6), qqq, Russia does not count May 13, 2008 it is a damn good thing! very fine aroma, something between cofee-fruity and red dessert wine, pretty special! beautiful, balanced flavor, bitterish and sourish with fruit tones, it is like a sip of good cofee, rich aftertaste! my opinion is strongly recomended to try! FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA May 12, 2008 Has a rather small and rapidly dissipating head for a stout. Jet black color, and when held to extremely bright light it looks like trying to look through an infrared camera filter - super dark red. Being from south Louisiana, I have what may be an uncommon observation about this beer: "Coffee with chicory". Coffee with chicory on the nose as well as prominent in the taste. Some maltyness and sweetness in the taste as well with a bitter finish of hops and more coffee with chicory. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia May 10, 2008 Malt hop aroma with fruit. Black colour with poor head and lacing. Malt smokey flavour with bitter aftertaste. Smooth palate. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle from Canals. Dark Brown pour with thin head. Aromas of Chocolate and Coffee were detected . Roasted flavors with a bitter finish. It was ok. Funknmilla (577), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA May 8, 2008 Bottle..dark brown with light brown head...What the F...smells sour as all hell...a stout, yes I have a doubt or two...can I actually drink this through and through?.....watery body, tastes like a coffee, twice brewed after the grinds sat out for a week or so, and the milk, well its tainted as well...its a bit chalky also...I just don’t like it...it can go F off and join the drain pours...although my rating may not make it to that page, it did join the drain thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA May 6, 2008 Pours ebony into an English pint. Offwhite medium head recedes slowly to coat surface leaving spot lacing. Coffee and chocolate aromas. Crisp yet full with sour espresso and milk chocolate from front to back. mybestfriend (261), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 14, 2008 Bottle. Balck colour with a beige head. Aroma i chocolate, caramel, coffee and some strange and unpleasant notes that I can’t explain. Flavour is mostly roasted coffee beans and molasses with a creamy mouthfeel. There is also a hint of metal that I find unpleasant. The finish is dry with a good amount of bitterness. I lke the bottle design but I don’t really care about the content...
