mybestfriend (261), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 14, 2008 Bottle. Balck colour with a beige head. Aroma i chocolate, caramel, coffee and some strange and unpleasant notes that I can’t explain. Flavour is mostly roasted coffee beans and molasses with a creamy mouthfeel. There is also a hint of metal that I find unpleasant. The finish is dry with a good amount of bitterness. I lke the bottle design but I don’t really care about the content... KM (218), Tromsø, Norway Apr 14, 2008 Bottle. Black body, brown fluffy head. Sweet aroma, banana, roasted malt, chocolate. Dry flavour, some sweetness, but not as complex as the aroma. Bitter finish. Not as heavy as one should think. (Ånn, 23.03.08) AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA Apr 12, 2008 nice (and I was worried about the green bottle) - nice coffee/roasted barley/chocolate flavors, as much of a dessert beer as I have ever had! kflorence (93), San Diego, California, USA Apr 7, 2008 Updated: Oct 26, 2008Wow, was this beer a surprise. Bottle at Brickskellers in D.C. Pours a very dark black/brown color with hazy brown head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is almost like chocolate milk, thick and sweet with roasted chocolate flavors and coffee, very tasty. Definitely one of my favorite cream stouts, I will look for this beer whenever I am in the mood for something dark and heavier. StFun (535), Indiana, USA Apr 7, 2008 Maybe I got a bad bottle, but I didn’t get much of the roasted flavor. No real coffee. Much more like a brown ale than a sweet stout. Had all the properties of a brown ale. Seemed pretty bland to me. Some "sweetness" to it, but lots of water as well. I don’t know, I’ll give it another shot and update the rating at that time! davidCC (130), New York, USA Apr 3, 2008 Dark black color, call it brown if you will. A lot of caramel head - a little bit too much. Deep with roasted flavors, touch of chocolate. A little kick on the palate. thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Mar 26, 2008 Pours dark, nearly black brown with a light brown head. Aroma is strong of dark chocolate and espresso. Flavor is wow. Very roasty. Strong levels of chocolate and coffee malts. Very nice. Multitude of flavor. Good balance, good taste. Nice. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Mar 24, 2008 500ml - Aroma is roasted chocolate malt, caramel with a little lacto. Pours black with a huge brown head and great lacing. Flavor of burnt malts, dark chocolate and cream. Nice bitterness. Palate is ashy and creamy. A pretty tasty stout.
