Jan 8, 2008 bottle. Pours black with a fluffy tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste characteristics include caramel, coffee, and some semblance of smoky woods. Very smooth in the mouth, perhaps a bit too smooth. Feels almost like water in the mouth. All in all an enjoyable beer.

Jan 7, 2008 500 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours an opaque black color with a big tan head that lasts a fair while and leaves oodles of lacing. The aroma is medium in strength with distinct notes of molasses and dark chocolate. The flavor is dominated by molasses and anise, with dates, plums and mocha coffee rounding out the sides and back. Mouthfeel is full, smooth and creamy. The finish is long with a pasty sticky effect on the palate. Overall: a better than average stout, but something seems to be missing. Recommended.

Dec 29, 2007 Bottled 50cl. It pours a black beer with a beautiful fluffy dark beige head. The nose is of eucalyptus, port, dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, cane sugar with hints of cherries and oats. Slightly woody. Full, sweet aromas which deliver quite a punch. The taste is salty with coffee, raisins, dark chocolate and caramel showing up. Lots of oats. Some molasses appearing. Full bodied. The finish is salty with coffee accompanied by milky, woody elements.
