500ml bottle from Majestic. Deep black with a ruby tint and a thick tan head that quickly dispersed; smokey aroma; smooth and velvety with a bittersweet taste, some chocolate and cofee but not overpowering, and a touch of lactic sourness; dry and smokey finish.

Pours to a thick, off-white head. The appearance of the beer was dark brown. Aroma was of roasted malts and chocolate. Initial flavour was sweet and malty. The finish was alcoholic and bitter in roasted malts. Very smooth on the palate. Good overall beer.

Initial nose of wheat and cereal. Then notes of toffee, and caramel are present. Pours black. The tall and sticky cola colored head has a nice cascade; then transforms into a mostly lasting creamy tan head with nice lace. The brew starts very malty but balanced, the middle is lightly acidic, and the robust finish has a deep coffee presence along with heavy dried fruit especially raisins and dates. The medium body is creamy and soft. The finish is amazingly clean.

Pours dark black with a thick coffee colored head. Beautiful aroma of malty chocolate, coffee, toffee, and hints of dark fruit. Wonderful roasted coffee taste mixed with dark chocolate and dark berries. Great beer!

Dark black beer with a thick tan head. Aroma is quite lovely. Light coffee and sweet chocolate. A bit of sweet plums and cherry. Sweet and lightly fruity with a bit of earthy bitterness. Moderate roast with some lovely sweetness. Good balance. A nice wintery stout.

This is a solid stout. A very enjoyable taste of chocolate, raisins (or more like different dried fruits?), liqourice, coffee and some fudge/toffee in the finish. Need too buy it again soon, it was a while ago (I’m just making the rating more readable know, haven’t tasted it since a couple of months ago).

This beer should have big thank you from me also, because it was this one which definitely got my stuck in the world of beer!

1pt .9oz bottle from Bayville Package Store in Selbyville, DE...pours black with a tan frothy head...smell of roasted malts, coffee bean...taste is much of the same with hints of chocolate, slightly bitter and a bit of a toasted-burnt flavor...good lacing...I found the smell to be a little more dominating than the actual flavor but it was still a very enjoyable stout.
