cbait21 (18), Delaware, USA Nov 17, 2007 Poured like flat Coca Cola. Small, creamy tan head with decent lacing but the head dimished rather quickly. Light, malty aroma with hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste of sweet roasted malts and chocolate with a bitter finish. redgold07 (308), Irving, Texas, USA Nov 12, 2007 Pours very dark into the glass. Taste is chocolate, malty, and sweet. Very much enjoyed this one. Unique bottle as well.
johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA Nov 12, 2007 Poured watery black with no head. Light aroma of malt. Taste was very watery. A hint of malt and chocolate but nothing really dominate. Tessic (439), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Nov 10, 2007 This stout poured the usual black colour with a nice tan smooth creamy head. To the nose you could smell scents of cream, cocoa, coffee, toffee and ripe fruit. First taste was smooth with flavours of an old english cough candy called Melloids. Slightly hoppy and bitter, initially a comination of coffee and chocolate but the overall flavour of chocolate wqasn’t prodominate. The finish is slightly smokey and the palate is a burnt malt flavour with a slight cocoa flavour. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Nov 10, 2007 Bottle: Poured a thick black color with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is roasted malt with dark chocolate. The taste is sweet with chocolate but finishes a bit dry and bitter. zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 9, 2007 Pours a black opaque body with bubbly brown head that leaves a good amount of lacing. Burnt malt aroma with some toast and vanilla. Full, creamy body with slippery texture. Roasted malt and coffee flavors and some hints of dark chocolate. Finishes slightly sweet and dry with a short, bitter bite. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 5, 2007 Had this beer on 9/15/2003. Aroma is a rich sweet roasted scent. Color is a solid black with fizzy carbonation and thin brown head. Taste is smooth and roasted. Starting with a full body that goes down with a creamy feel and roasted flavor. Finish takes this roasted flavor and turns it sweet with a slight bite. In the end it leaves you with a mild bitterness. This is by far the best beer that I have had from St.Peter’s. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA Nov 4, 2007 Pours black with zero head. Aromas of burnt malt also some molasses and roasted. Smells like it could be pretty sweet. Flavor is very bold but nicely rounded. Burnt flavors but not acidic. Smooth and creamy body but those burnt flavors still linger in the finish. Bitterness quickly hits but then instantaneously subsides. Very solid stout though it tastes slightly stale.
