TaxiDriver (910), Stadland, Germany Jul 1, 2007 Bottle. Roasted / burnt heavy dark malt, dark body with an off-white small head, mostly dimishing. Dry & Bitter (all of the time), quite long duration. Medium body, flat carbonation and a creamy texture. bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 30, 2007 Deep cherry-wood color with no head. Malt dominates the aroma with some fruity characteristics and an underlying chocolaty sweetness. Thin, chocolate malty flavor. Not much else going on in this one. Simple, but good. Prcaus (159), New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2007 Bottle-Discount Liquors Voorhees NJ-Pours a deep dark black with no head. Aroma/taste is a very sweet malt with slight hops and nice chocolate hint. Overall fairly enjoyable lukewarm cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Jun 28, 2007 Updated: Oct 26, 2007500 mL bottle, but a new style, thinner, unlike the old bottle shape, which i preferred aesthetically. Pours milky black with toffe colored head. Roasted chocolate and toffee are on the nose. Wonderful mouthfeel for a stout, toasted chocolate, mocha malts gracefully milk themselves over the palate. A slight piney/hoppy tinge echoes in the back of the mouth at the end An almost chewy, smokey finish which makes me want to brush my teeth after drinking, but I like the flavor too much. An excellent stout! altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jun 28, 2007 Bottle at home. Dark toasty colour. Wooden aroma. Deliscious. Taste of chocolate, licorice, bread, toffee. Reminds me of a Guinness. Maybe a bit too raspy at the end. But very good nonetheless. Toasty! LordBeamish (144), Boozetown, Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2007 Not too bad at all. Big smokey and caramel aromas lead to a complex taste experience. A little better than the Murphy’s or Guinness standard fair but a notch below Beamish to be sure. KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2007 Updated: Jun 28, 2007Better than Murphys & Guiness, but lacking compared to Beamish. Very earthy and big smoke tones. St. Peters seems to be making some tasty brews, their organic ale is also complex and drinkable. smashteroid (227), USA Jun 23, 2007 Served cold, from bottle. Dark brown with slight reddish hue. Decent off-white head. Very sweet flavor, lots of malts, chocolate is not overwhelming. Nice sweet-to-slightly-bitter taste, with moderate alcohol presence. An unsuspectingly good beer.
