| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2007 From a shaped, narrow neck 500 ml. olive coloured bottle with a blurb and freshness date on the back label.
Poured a ruby hued blackish brown with a small foamy, bubbly topped head that settled into a fine bubbly lacing.
Aromas of roasted coffee and chocolate, musty and a light fruitiness, a bit citrusy.
Moderate carbonation and a softly crisp, slick, smooth full bodied mouthfeel.
Tastes of roasted coffee and sweet milky chocolate with a touch of charcoal, a musty earthiness, a subtle fruitiness, the hops are pretty tamed, more brisk than bitter, and a sweet milky chocolate and coffee malty finish.
A nice milk stout from St. Peter’s, easy, smooth drinkability, well worth trying.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2007 This is the last of the four St. Peters offerings sold for $3.85 at my local Northcoast Coop here in Eureka, CA. It poured a nice dark red (almost black) that left a big juicy light tan head that settled quickly and left chucks of lacing on the side of the glass. Attractive pour. Nose of burnt malts. Very rich creamy mouthfeel. Flavors of dark malts, coffee, chocolate, and fruit. Finish was nicely bitter. Excellent brew, and a worthy stout. hughie (3048), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 8, 2007 Classic understated English stout. Not on par with Young, Sam Smith stouts but very good and the most beautiful brew bottle I have found to data. The first bottle I put cleaned and put in the window. Circa 1870 (?) flask they say. molassesfan (201), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
