Fuggles and Challenger hops plus a blend of four local barley malts create an aromatic, strong, dark chocolate cream stout with a satisfying bittersweet aftertaste.

Bottle at bro’s. I remember the first sniff frightened me - it seemed metallic and lactic, not at all nice, but then after some time it opened up, the metallic effect disappeared, and it was nice and thick, chocolaty, milky, malty. It tasted as nice and quite similar, with a bit of bitterness and coffee. Smooth creamy mouthfeel with thin carbonation. I ended up quite enjoying this.

Color pitch black, small frothy light tan head, recedes quickly, some lacing; sweet malt aroma, roasted, dark chocolate, bit dark fruits; taste medium sweet and bitter, light chocolate, bit caramel; medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste roasted bittersweet; pleasant and smooth Stout.

Bottle thanks to Brian - I used to like this many many years ago. Pours dark black, medium tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, some lacing. Aroma is lactose, roast, a bit burned, some dark chocolate, perhaps a note of rubber. Flavor is light sweet and light plus bitter, a bit burned. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

500ml bottle pours pretty much black, some ruby red shines through when held to light. Small tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate maybe a bit of licorice. Sweet chocolate followed by bitter coffee. Good mouthcoating feel but lighter than I had expected with long bitterish finish that eventually turns gently warm.

Bottle shared by Martin, thanks! Black with a small beige head. Aroma has rye bread, liquorice and blue mould cheese. Taste is roasted with coffee, chocolate, liquorice, sweet notes/raisins. Medium body, medium carbonation, dry mouth feel. Short after taste.
A really good surprise. Had this 10 years ago and had no good memory of it at all, nice to have it again.

Brown black with tan head. Aroma is coffee, smoke, cocoa, caramel, even black olive. Soft, creamy, very well balanced. Not very long-lingering. A very elegant stout.

I bought and sampled this along with St. Peter’s Old Style Porter. This one seemed better, but that may be because I prefer stouts slightly over porters. Like the porter, this one had a bite in flavor. Maybe it’s the hops they use, as the overwhelming flavors I notice seem to be on the hops side versus the sweetness of the malts. This stout is very creamy, maybe the creamiest of the cream stouts I’ve tried. Flavors and quality seem to be there, but I’m not sure the St. Peters beers are working 100% for me.
