Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light soapy lacing that slid at a nice pace into the beer. The smell had a decent roasty creamy like chocolate to light coffee blend graced with a decent sweet maltiness. The taste was mainly sweet but had a element of roasty maltiness. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was extremely subdued but still not bad for the style. Overall, this was a pretty good English Stout worthy of having again.

From bottle. Clear dark red-brown; nearly opaque. good head and lacing. Aroma: complex and highly appealing. Approaches 9. Flavor: mildly sweet; great balance; lingering taste of dark chocolate and dark roasted malts. No burnt elements. Feel: medium body with good, low carbonation. O: excellent.

Nice creamy head, strong taste, extremely enjoyable during cold months after a long day while unwinding by the fireplace. Reminds me of better times.
