bottle: pours a thick black with a tan head which is minimal. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, very malty, licorice, alcohol, and slightly hoppy. Taste is got a nice roastiness to it, chocolate, somewhat nutty, nice and big malt notes, nice and thick, and an alcohol tinge to it. Palate is bitter, not carbonated at all, long and lively. Overall, This is a decent Sweet stout. This is a really solid beer.

Intensely black pour with a slight, though lingering, tan head. Rich roasted nose with chocolate and brown sugar notes. Flavor is roasted toffee, molasses, chocolate, touches of espresso, brown sugar and caramel. A s;ightly astringent or metallic tinge on the tongue. I could have used a little more carbonation. Pretty decent stuff, though!

A black, brown coloured beer with a weak milky coffee coloured head. From the moment the bottle is opened there is a distinctly fruity aroma, sweet berries, red grapes, then a roasted coffee smell, that blends into liquorice, caramel and malt. The taste is bitter with a full mouthfeel. There is a complex array of fruit flavours to begin with then there is a smooth, mellow malty flavour, slightly sour, with liquorice, burnt sugar, dark chocolate and coffee leading to a long, bitter sweet finish. (Bottle - purchased from the brewery’s stall @ the 2005 Sandringham Christmas Food Fair).

Poured jet black, like motor oil but looked a little thinner. Almost no head to speak of. Aroma was of strong chocolate and some hops. Flavor followed suit, mostly chocolate. Mouthfeel was different, nice and thick but flavor was almost thined out. Good beer, not great.

500 ml bottle, at Haket, Göteborg. Served with a Chimay glass. Black colour, low tan head. Nice roasty aroma with strong notes of prunes and chocolate, hints of liquorice and pipe tobacco. Flavour is creamy and mellow, but also distinctly roasty with notes of coffee and chocolate. A very fine beer.

Great stout! Pours what appears to inky black, but settles out into a midnight brown. Minimal brown head. Nice mouthfeel - thick. Nice toasty bittersweet chocolate in the nose. Chocolate, coffee, sweet tar, licorice, and a slight tang on the tongue. And a great looking bottle!

Poured black with a nice head on it. Aroma was sweet with a nice malt background. Nice and smooth when drinking. I love stouts and the cream adds a nice smoothness to the beer.
