Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA Jul 9, 2006 Flat pour, with no head at all. Dark cola color with no bubbles. Neat oval shaped bottle! Dark coffee flavors with a hint of chocolate in the aftertaste. Slightly astringent in mouth feel, but overall pretty decent! beerlady (443), lucerne, Switzerland Jul 9, 2006 has a small but beautifully creamy and brownish head
darker than dark coffee, even if holding against light, it is totally dark!

smooth carbonation
tasts of dark,bitter chocolate,coffee,some citrus,dark malt,chestnut,roasted hazelnuts
aftertaste black chocolate, coffee,or better mocca, nice bitterness, chestnut
well balanced beer, with a great range of aromes! I like it! thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Jul 8, 2006 Pours completely black with a small brown head. The aroma is roasted coffee, but also a hint of berries. The mouthfeel is very nice and creamy, and still manages a high carbonation. Taste of coffee, caramel and some dark chocolate. Nice for chocolate desserts or maybe as accompanment for coffee. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jun 29, 2006 Cool bottle. Dark color, with a roasty coffee flavor, with milk/cream. Sweet finish. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jun 28, 2006 Black in colour with lower than average carbonation. Aromas of Vienna roast coffee, milk chocolate, and spicy hops. Strong caramel aspects come out in the mouth, along with darker chocolate and more coffee. Heavy bodied, with a long sweet finish. A nice after dinner pint. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 27, 2006 Updated: Jun 30, 2006Bottled. Pours an almost opaque brownish black with garnet highlights, and a tiny bit of tan surface froth. Aroma of chocolate, smoke, and a prune or two. Full creamy body with just a bit of carbonation. The taste is sweet, with coffee, dark chocolate, prunes, coffee, roasty molasses malt, and a bittersweet espresso finish. If there was ever a SWEET stout, this is it. Not quite sweet enough to use as syrup on your pancakes, but close. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg Jun 26, 2006 Very nice ale indeed! Aroma creamy, dark chocolate, malt. Black, small tan head. Rich, plenty of cream flavour, malty on the palate, not much else. Very very nice drinker, a little too rich, though, alcohol disguised well. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Jun 23, 2006 Opaque pour with almost no head (tan bubbles only). The nose is of dark chocolate. Flavors are roasted smokiness with coffee, and a thin roasted espresso finish. There are some intermingling dark chocolate hues. It goes very well with breakfast, and won’t let down.
