OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Jan 8, 2006 500ml bottle pours black with a short creamy offwhite head. Aromas of light chocolate and coffee hover above the English Pint. Flavor is a nice blend of chocolate, coffee, and a bit of smoke.. a little bit of molasses there as well. Mostly sweet throughout but a little bitter hop presence at the finish. Palate is lighter for a stout and a tad on the watery side. Very drinkable though. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland Jan 8, 2006 Bottled. It’s dark brown with a mior white head. The aroma is that of burnt hops and chocolate. The flavour consists of a smoky sensation (hops?)and it has strong hints of chocolate. It has a sweet after taste with a minor bitter finish. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA Jan 7, 2006 500ml bottle. Pours opaque black w/ no head. Potent dusty aroma of coffee and chocolate...smoked almonds appear...thick, oily, and slightly boozy first impression. Quite sweet, w/ only some hints at bitterness in the finish. Very chocolate flavor that doesn’t leave room for much else to come in...maybe slightly cheesey in the finish (hops?) along with some smoke character. Quite flat on the carbonation. Molasses character as well...which I don’t like. Overall it is enjoyable, but I have no reason to drink this over Bell’s much more excellant Kalamazoo stout. Bell’s still sets the benchmark for stouts in my mind. Goofy bottle doesn’t do much for me either. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Jan 6, 2006 From dhrjericho. Pours a nice deep dark brown(almost black) color. Aromas of chocolate, smoke, and some sweetness. Flavor is dark chocolate, a touch of berry, and smokey. Creamy with a dry finish and a bittersweet aftertaste. RCWCPACFP (102), New Jersey, USA Jan 4, 2006 A little wattery the sweet restes uneasy ond the mouthfeel had a little too much separation of the flavors. hen it came around a little as it wrmed and made an ok showing as a light stout... leaning towards a light oatmeal. RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA Jan 3, 2006 This beer tickles the nose with an almond aroma that has hints of coffee lingering in the background. It is a black liquid with a thick brown head that fades fast. This thin bitter solution has the taste of smoke and coffee combined and proceeds to get sweeter with every taste. dwyerpg (2519), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jan 2, 2006 This is a nice heavy stout, though not really that creamy. The sweetness is there, but not too much, easily making this the best St peters I’ve had. MacDaddyOJake (274), Richmond, Virginia, USA Dec 29, 2005 Very thick black with little to no head, even right after the pour. Nice aroma of cream, toffee, molasses, and coffee. Tastes of many the same thing, and it got better with each sip. Very good stout, the only complaint I have is a little lack of carbonation. Very thick though, so it made for a nice palate. This beer rocked!
