Mahogany-tinted black with a tight brown head that shows remarkable retention and generates thick lace for the entire pint (it looks perfect). Very roasty, bitter chocolate, subtle ripe berry fruit, sweet mid-palate, dry finish. The best stout I’ve had in a while.

Chocolate and roasted grapes on the nose. Substantial head resting on a tar-black body. Irresistable first sips reveal a bold flavour bustling with caramel, barley, biscuits, coffee beans working together to instill a satisfactory mellow brew. Aftertaste is very bitter with a heavy emphasis on the roasted aspects in the nose and adding a very dry tone to the proceedings. Quite nice.

Pint bottle from The Andersons General Store. Nice rich dark pour. Nice full bodied aroma of malt and smoke. Smooth and frothy on the tongue. Flavor was roasty malt and bitter chocolate. Nice lingering bitter aftertaste. It’s a nice sipper to relax with in the evening. I’d drink it again.

Thanks Funkybrewster! Pours black with a very nice silky creamy tan head. Great smokey, whisky, fresh cream, woody, roasted malt aroma. Oily whisky roasted flavor, some licorice, bitter ground coffee and wood splinters. Nice bitter dark chocolate finish. Medium/full body, oily, with average carbonation, softer big bubbles.

Getting notebook online. Bottle. I really like the bottle shape. Pours a creamy dark with a very little head. Aromas of chocolate fruity fragrance, very appetizing. Hits the roof of the mouth hard while feeling a little watery, flavors build as you go. Overall not too bad. Vary strong and full of flavor.
