"English Halcyon malts are used together with lager malts. Golding hops provide the bitterness and aroma. The result is a highly distinctive light, golden ale similar in character to a full bodied Czech lager."

Bottle. Golden amber colour small white head. Aroma is very lager like. Taste is grainy, resin and sweet. reminds me of a Bohemian pilsner as mentioned in commercial description. A hybrid of lager and ale. Nice for a change but not a beer I would be drinking on a regular basis. Could be more of favourite with discerning pilsner drinkers.

the aroma is malty and floral with shades of grain, yeast, hops and herbs... the taste is malty and herbal with notes of grain, honey, yeast and some grasses... bitter and dry aftertaste...

Cloudy, dark yellow with quick beige foam. Balanced hop and malt nose, leaning toward the citrus. Hops dominate the taste, leaving it bitter with a slightly sour finish.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2016 From Club del Gourmet of El Corte Ingles El Duque. In Ikea?s pint glass. After dinner. Both sweet and bitter, with the typical english earthy bitterness a bit above the sweetness hiding the watery texture well. Very drinkable. Nasty aspect though, without any foam

500ml bottle into an ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged vase shaped pint glass at home on 17th March 2016. Lunchtime drink with some rustic brown bread and pate. Clear golden pour, weak and wispy white head, even with a robust pour. Mild aroma of hops, taste also hop centric with a bitter nature and I can see why the brewery claim it is ’similar in character to a full bodied Czech lager’. The malts came into their own as the beer warmed a little and it became a little sweeter. Refreshing, thirst quenching and an ideal beer for my little meal.

500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with a small diminishing white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity malts, hops. Flavour is like that too. Some hoppy bitterness in the finish. Overall similar to a lager, nice but I’ll probably forget this one.

Pours clear golden color with medium white head. Smell of malts, caramel, yeast. Thin body with medium carbonation. Bittersweet taste. Aroma of malts, caramel, yeast, herbal and floral notes. Finish is dry. Overall, a bit disappointed with this one. It feels like lager, lacking any distinctive character. Quite a boring beer.

From a bottle, that s has some grassy hops, and lager malts on the nose. Clean tasting, with a dry finish.
