2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 POLK (1895) - Hørning, DENMARK - SEP 5, 2012
050712: Beautiful oval bottle, containing a brownish liquid that smells strongly of honey. Not surprisingly, the taste is also completely dominated by honey. you have to be more than ordinary honey fan, to this beer can be tolerated. Mysterious dark caramel flavor, Caramel candy flavor lightly toasted but with all too much honey.

500ml bottle at The Jerusalem Tavern. Pours clear fairly deep brown, small but lasting tan creamy head. Aroma and taste - sweet! Cloying honey, light mocha and vaguely floral - OTT. Average body, sweet and decently carbonated, linger is .... Sugary honey and some caramel. Didn’t much like it.
2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 sulawang (418) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012
pours dark coffee brown, almost no head, not much in CO2 activity. Strong malted caramel and honey on the nose. The honey hits first followed by medium malts, caramel, low-medium sourness, all with a watery backdrop and thin mouthfeel. Finishes semi-sweet with a hint of coffee and medium bitterness. Medium complexity, medium depth, okay transitions, okay carry, okay drinkability.

1.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 mrtavora (25) - - JUL 12, 2012
Nice honey aroma with floral and chocolate undertones. It tastes overwhelmingly of liquorice with a medicinal finish. I would not recommend
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lembeek (121) - ITALY - JUL 5, 2012
Aroma intenso di miele, cioccolato, liquirizia, caffè. In bocca prevalgono le note amare, con sentori di miele e liquirizia
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 tfredvik (648) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 15, 2012
Another beer from the brewery with the beautiful bottles! Out of the before mentioned beautiful bottle comes a dark brown copper-ish liquid that forms a small, frothy, light-brown head. The head is short-lived and leaves little lacing on the glass. Strong aroma that is totally dominated by sweet honey. I love honey, and I love the aroma of this honey overdose beer! Also sweet caramel, or rather caramel filled chocolate, and some sweet fruity notes. The taste is moderate sweet and there is a light bitterness in the finish. The flavours are not as strong as the aroma, and even though sweet honey is by far the dominant factor also when it comes to the flavours, there is also a welcome note of liquorice that freshens things up a bit, along with sweet caramel. The beer feels very thin and watery, I think a thick creamy mouthfeel would have fitted the sweet honey much better. Brew me an imperial version of this one, and I’m in honey heaven!
[50 cl bottle, 4.5 % ABV, enjoyed 8 months before BB date, from Jacobs på Holtet, Oslo]
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Yorker (621) - Århus, DENMARK - JUN 13, 2012
50 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a small white head that fades leaving a little lacing. Aroma is way too much honey and basically nothing else. Taste is just like the aroma way too much honey that pretty much kills everything else.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 jdpeebs (636) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUN 11, 2012
500ml bottle- Pours a nice dark colour with a red hue. Strong honey aroma. An overpowering honey and liquorice taste, that i found very unappealing. Not my sort of beer, but i"m sure suits a niche market.
